Left 4 Dead Mod? Anyone?

I have little time to contribute but I like the idea of a Left 4 Dead Mod. Something that plays more like Prince of Persia / but with guns and fast paced, zombies are very powerful so it does not take much to die, it would be cool if there was a way we could heal others and find others in a locked room when player two respawns. Im thinking with this mod you can see the fire arm flashes only without seeing the bullets, perhaps shells and ricochets. No moving up and down. only left and right with jumping, climbing, running, walking up stairs and down. There are tons of L4D sounds and music online.

It would be nice to use it as a base to build some sprites from. This seems like a sweet idea to me but I cannot and will not do it alone. If you want to participate please post what you would be willing to do to make this happen or post sprites that may help inspire others.

how you feel about this concept? Any additional ideas or Concepts for something like this? Any Thoughts?

I am not really a left 4 dead fan but that is some really good art work !

I don't know anything about left4dead either..    The concept sounds cool, makes me think of Blackthorne/Blackhawk but with zombies.  Besides making the sprites the hard parts would be the ladders and platform climbing etc.  But there is examples and scripts for this now.

I really like the the sprites you made.  At one point I had planned to find a sprite artist to commission some work and try and do an original game with this sprite style.  If you are going to be making original sprites you could easily just make an original zombie game and forget the left 4 dead theme altogether.

Any mod I have with guns is like this too, I think it works much better this way.

Anyways, I don't understand why would you want to make Left 4 Dead/Prince of Persia crossover. I think it would be easier to just make plain beat'm up with Left 4 Dead theme. You can add shooting feature if you want to

Regardless, since this mod would require sprites to be made instead of ripped, I hope they are fully ready to use. Lacking sprites could stop a mod or at least hinder its progress

Yes I am also considering this, but If I go in that route I would want to have the PAK file encrypted so I can try and sell it on Steam and play.google.com

What is the process of having the PAK encrypted or is there a way to have it done on my own?

True, True, True and True. Well, I have seen many titles that were once 2d and now they are popular 3d games. So, me being a big fan of that game wouldn't mind seeing it in 2d. Also im kinda looking for a excuse for an attempt create a dark eerie game with openbor and try to use the engine differently to see what It can do besides the whole beat em up, punch, kick, fall repeat. And also yes sprites would be the bigger part of the project but it should not be as bad compared to fighting games with unique attacks and kicks. Only the basics like walk, run, jump, fall, die, shoot, and a weapon melee.
