Need some analyse on my sprite animation work

You're getting better and better as O said. Even though you're not a professional, you keep trying and practicing your animations and spriting/pixeling in order to make things a quality work. Practice makes perfect, man! You are on the road of becoming a professional! You may not think of yourself being a pro, but you're improving your skills of becoming an artist (or a sprite artist), and your skills look like you know what to do. LOL

Though you're a beginner of pixel/sprite/animation, you are in a level where anyone who needs a pro as a pixel artist for doing projects. Your skills speak louder than words. Keep your skills up for professionalism! You will make it there if you are going to be too good or the best in that kind. Cheers to ya!
 
Hi everyone, it's me again.
I've been MIA for suche a long time ... too much things to set straight in my life to spend time spriting.
But I'm back (I don't know for how long though) and I will at least try to finish Shiva
I will definitely use all your observation to make something decent

But I'm still at the "paper test" step, so don't expect any new gif before long (but who knows)

Working on Adam (many asked about it) Axel and Blaze for complete new moves or smoother old moves.
Still at paper stage too

Anyway, glad to see you guys again, and I will, again, overuse your hospitality and your judgment for my next SOR sprite animation

I'm still struggling with the brazilian kick for shiva so I started to think about smoothing the other big 3 heroes and making 3 new super moves for each of them
And then BAM ... need to completely remake Blaze running animation as she looks like she is having some bowel problems when she runs.
Also working on a new Run, Jump, Kick animation for each of them.

My main focus being to use very specifique martial art traits for each of them (using animation insipred from other games sprites)
No more Kicks for Adam but just good old effective boxing based on Dudley (SFIII) and Rick (FFRB2), he will have a conter against some attacks
Blaze will have some counters on most attacks and more ki attacks (Kasumi Todo KOF ... Aoi VF ... the rotoscoping is going to be a b*tch), and she will switch from Judo to Aikijutsu like fighting style ... An all grappling fighter would be to difficult (need to redraw every enemys too and the script is going to kill me ... except if someone already tried to do so and can show me how he did it ... or send me to the right explanation on the forum)
No major changes for Axel as MMA fits his figthing style

The goal is to give slightly different gameplay depending on which character the player will select.


Never played with Zan, Adam's Bro or Max so much, so no work or even ideas of customizing yet.
 
Nice to see the project is still running.
Really promising.

If it was my project, I would ha made these choices
ADAM : mostly boxing moves, but allows few kick (as a street brawler)
BLAZE : mostly kick moves and using various grapple moves (they are not that hard to code)

I read so many people that wanted a more boxing only Adam that I wanted to tryto do so (Capcom and SNK could do it so...)
Blaze fighting style is too messy for me and doesn't reflect any judo at all ... not even close to aikido so I bend toward Aikiken as it offers traditional japanese kempo and counters I can use.
But to be honest, I never looked at the coding language, so if I realise that it is easier than what I expect, I might give her a more judo like style (surtout si j'ai un peu d'aide)
Finally Axel is my brawler type

I'll try to go from paper to sprite very soon (at least I need to finish Shiva's damn kick first)
