Permission to talk about my non OpenBOR related game project

Hi there!

I started working on a more or less classic Beat 'em up recently. Found out about this place and OpenBOR (but unfortunately [?] already started using other software) a while ago and just noticed that you are allowing games created with other engines. Since my parents taught me at least some manners and my teachers to read and write, I studied the rules and spotted the remark to ask for permission first. So I'd humbly ask for permission to present my miserably tiny progression so far as well as getting feedback by the community as development continues.

Best regards and have a nice day. =)

Welcome to chronocrash - we pride ourselves on being a friendly place. Just make sure to post in the right sections so we don't all get confused.

So far as talking about other engines and such, for the most part that's perfectly fine. In fact we'll be glad to help in whatever way we can. There are a couple of specific exceptions, but they all involve unofficial forks attempting to compete with the main engine or projects that blatantly take credit for work by us and Senile Team.

Thank you very much. =)
I browsed the forum a bit today and can second you on being a friendly bunch. From the forum descriptions, I guess that the General Discussion in the Miscellaneous Gaming section is the right place for my game?

Well, I see where you are coming from. This place is obviously dedicated to OpenBOR (as well as some Mugen), so I think it would be rude and all to try to shift interest to something else. From my experience with other communities, advertised alternatives actually never live up to the hype they hope to generate anyways.
Looking at myself, I don't plan to "compete" either way. It's all just about the game I am working on. In the same vain as anyone else presenting their OpenBOR ones. It's not easy to find a place to talk about your Beat 'em up project. Communities either forbid all form of self promotion or lack a sufficient base of enthusiasts for lovely classic brawlers. =(
(Of course you need to find any communities in the first place.)
