Hey, so I was wondering if a moderator could clear something up for me.
About 2-3 months ago, I attempted to log in and was told I was banned for posting Spam and Solicitation and that the ban would not be lifted. The problem is, I hardly ever posted on the forum except the occasional question or comment to mod creators and I certainly never posted spam. At the time I received this ban, I had not actually posted at all in several weeks, maybe even a month, so I was very confused to say the least!
The thing that bothered me most was that there was absolutely no way for me to contact anyone with regards to this and so I was unjustly locked out of the website for months with no way to appeal to moderators and explain that I had certainly not been the one posting. I tried to make a new account in order to clear this up, however it seemed my whole IP address was blocked, so I gave up.
I'd like to know what happened really :-\ If any spam or solicitation WAS posted by my account, then it seems I was hacked or infected with a spam virus. I'd noticed a lot of spam around the forums not long before I was banned and I remember thinking there must be a bug or a hacker going around. I didn't expect to become a victim myself though :/
I am very grateful for whoever removed the ban and I don't hold any grudges for somebody just doing their job, but I think this site desperately needs to change it's policies if someone can get perma-banned for something they did not even do, and I was very upset that I had been treat like a criminal and was not allowed to defend myself. You should at the very least have an emergency contact email on the main page so that if anyone finds themselves locked out of their account, they have a means to contact the moderators/site owners to explain their side of things.
In closing, I want to assure you that I will NEVER consciously post spam or solicitation. I despise the stuff. If my account ever posts something of that nature in the future, you have my word that it will not be at my hand.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
Psykai
