Selling OpenBor on Google Play?

I know what you guys are thinking, here comes another topic about selling OpenBor.  ??? I apologize in advance. Okay, I was reading this and I started thinking of ways that I could sell a 100% original game with this engine. The plan I have is to sell it on the Google Play store for $0.99 when it's complete. I would like to know some of you guys opinions, if it seems highly possible, than I'm ready to start production on some original content.

It's not for sale unless if you can create your own sprite and you also need the copyright of your own project... once everything is set, you can sell it over google play...

I'm really not sure now. It will be cool to see it happen (if you have sprites created from scratch instead of using other commercial sprites, as I'm sure you made 100% original sprites without using character bases). I'll wait for DC's response about what he thinks if it's okay or not. I'd like to sell my own game(s) (with 100% original content) too in the future. Not sure about how we could sell. I remember I did say that we could possibly sell, and for myself, I thought of selling it to the market.

You have to include the OpenBOR license one way or another. I don't care how - You could even display it optionally in game somewhere.

Otherwise, go ahead if you can. But don't forget it's not enough to have original sprites. EVERYTHING has to be original or permitted, including fonts and sounds.

Thanks guys, I will definitely include the OpenBOR license in the game. That's a very important step! I will also make sure everything is copyrighted. And thanks DC, the sprites, fonts, sound fx, and music will be all original. Is there anything else that I'm missing?

If I remember well, most of your sprites are based on existing characters, mostly KOF.
This mean a lot of work to create actual moves and animations for a commercial project.
Anyway, good luck.

You might use free sound bases for your sound FX even if some commercial projects makes money using Capom and SNK sounds...

Thanks, I'm gonna need the luck! All of my past projects Skull Kingz, Overload, and The Burning Fox were based on sprite edits. I'm not the best spriter in the world, but I do have original sprites that are in a similar style as the edits I've created. I have more experience with art & animation than I do with sprites, it's all similar. I've already starting spriting a few characters "Idle" stance, and the results so far is pretty good in my opinion. ;)

Getting the sprites, animations, music, and gameplay complete is not my main issue, my real issue is wondering if I could get the entire game packaged in a APK file and uploaded to the Google Play Store. I have the ability to upload, but can OpenBor be modified to a simple single App in a store?  ???

I'm sure there's some way to do it, at least in theory, but the current Android port doesn't have that feature.

:-\ Ahh man, that kind of put a whole in my ultimate goal. Us modders know how to install these games with no problem on androids, but a couple of people I know in real life were having trouble setting up OpenBOR and the games on their phones. I even created a tutorial and they were still having trouble.

There has to be some way, if Volcanic figured it out, then we need to try and contact him immediately.

Here's a download to his Rocket Riper 2 :Fighter Extinction Project.
I'm looking through his APK files now, it looks pretty confusing.

So did anyone succeed creating apk file with pak inside so after installation you could play right away ?

He already went against policy by going off and making another variant despite the rest of the community, so expecting him to come by and donate source back to the project is probably not going to happen.

Some apps install additional data files after base app install so we should be able to install openbor as main app then pak file as additional data on sd.

Looks like the openbor files need to be moved to a android/obb/openbor/ folder also the version of android support needs updating (this may fix joypad support).

When i have more free time i will look into this in more detail.
