Shadow of The Ninja

Woo Hoo! I'm very pleased. ^^

I have fond memories of Blue Shadow (US)/Shadow of the Ninja (EUR). Even though the game was hard and I could never finish it.

For the record, I owned a NES back then. A friend showed me this game which sadly was US only. Back in those "Internetless days" 😅 I had no clue this game was available in EUR under the name "Blue Shadow". So I went into a game shop to install a chip on my European NES, just to play this US game. No Regrets.

Concerning the remake, I hope for the best. Even though I’m not fond of the new cartoony style (this is a big trend these days).
I hope we’ll be allowed to select the orginal style like in the Wonderboy Remake.

Here’s the Steam Page for more info: Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn (Steam)

By the way the Soundtrack for this game was phenomenal: Shadow of the Ninja (NES) Music - Stage 1 (Youtube)

Now here's a fantastic remix, a metal medley:

I like what I’m seeing here, but still I cannot grasp how it’s possible that the old designs from 8-bits and 30+ years ago looks much better that these two kids in ninja outfits 😅

I mean, they already had an “adult” anime-like design back then, so it’s natural to progress into that as many games/properties did towards bringing them to the 16-32 bit era. Now it’s like everything must be more tiny designed.

I agree that the characters look childish, also their shading lack more contrast, but I really appreciate the rest. I expect a Power Blade remake at this point, taking the best from the original and its sequel (not to mention Shatterhand). I am a late fan of Natsume's games: it's like Capcom but without the flaws of the latter.

I like the graphics but I hope they are going to add more stages or extras. It seems way too similar to the original, that original nes music though umf. 😀

@crimefighters3: actually the devs are going to add a few things:

- new weapons/items,

- re-arranged soundtrack by the original composer, Iku Mizutani,

Basically it's the original '90 devs who will work on the remaster. The steam page says "Developed by the Original Team - Carefully Remastered after 33 Years".

Again I just hope we'll be able to choose between the different assets when it comes to graphics and music (original vs remastered).
