Turn 3D models into pixel art #1

This might be exactly what I'm looking for to bring my Quest of Quien roster to life... Years ago the concept of bringing my original characters to life was what brought me to OpenBOR.

OK. Here's where I'm lost at. Do I have to download a .x file as a plugin for Blender? I'm lost with installing plugin but I already installed Blender. I don't know what type of plugin I should install for it to work. I want to start doing the PixelShader.
 
Okay. I got it working. The plugin part was the only thing I was confused. Now it's all good 'cause I got it running. I will try out doing the dots.
 
Now that I thought about your question, the .x it refers to is it's outputted format. That's a file designed for pixel art shader and is not the DirectX format. there's a folder there with the plugin for blender that you can load up in the plugin manager. Too bad though, they don't have that in 3DS Max though. Blender's learning curve is very steep.
