Before making the chronocrash engine, why not making a more user friendly openbor?.
I know this would be cheesy but i think that a lot of people aren't using the engine because the lack of modular structure on the engine.
I'm not want to be a scratch disc but the fighting mugen engine has that particular manner to provide separate character, stages and/or visual mods; openbor has to be in that way too.
Yeah are different engines and openbor choose the retrocompatibility but that retro thing is stoping the evolution and the average user simply avoid using it.
Openbor is opensource (to my knowledge) and has many advantages over mugen, can have separated models, stages, music, common sound, scripts and pak folders
pak folder itself can bring the option to call only the models, stages and other things used in choosed game or maybe add the option to .zip it or .7zip it instead of using the .pak file
