Hi,
I'm curious about your choices with such a theme.
Select 3 mods you particularly like for the gameplay mechanics, enhanced fighting moves, intereaction + character roster for diversity.
It depends on your own tastes, not necessarly games with tons of possible moves.
I'm not talking of actual cool things like edited menu features, helpers, intro, tutorial etc.
Also, I like many other games, but for other reasons like Nekketsu/Kunio games, games with a retro spirit, non-fighting gamesplay etc.
Perhaps I'm not exhaustive, I might change my mind later.
TOP3
1-Fight Forever - DEMO - (Mr.Q)
To confirm later when other characters complete the roster.
I'm particularly waiting to see what Maki is capable of.
I like the diversity of moves and the feeling you never use the same combo twice.
Extremely pleasing to play. This game is the closer game to what I like in a beat em up.
2-Mortal Kombat : The Chosen One (DanteDevil)
Some of the few games that gave me the feeling of really "owning" an opponent.
The diversity of moves, the multiple grabs. Fatalities, interactions like catching a flying knife to throw it to opponent etc.
I only play a bunch of characters in the roster, but all of them have very interesting moves and combos.
3-World Heroes Supreme Justice (Magggas)
Some of my best game experience with Openbor.
Just the amount of moves and possible combo, follow ups, cancels you need to enjoy the game.
The really good thing here, is you don't need to check a move list because the moves are very accessible.
Honorable ones. A cannot forgot to give these titles as well
(No praticular order)
-AOF Touble in southtown (Jonsilva)
Tons of moves, some I don't really use.
You can definitely crate your own gameplay with a selection of these moves.
Tons of characters to unlock with their own game mechanics.
- SORX (Kratus)
Simply the best thing that ever happened to SOR license
This mod "humiliate" SOR4 and most of the other tentatives to make something after SOR3.
The moves are well chosen, the combos really fun.
It feel like a best of, of everything you played in SOR1,2,3 + some extras.
Extremely pleasing game for so many reasons.
I consider this game like an engine itself !
- Crime Buster (Bloodbane)
The first mod that make me feel the difference between BOR and Openbor.
Still very pleasing to play, different mechanics for every characters, (Exemple Bao can grab in midair a standing opponent etc.)
I could have put Ultimate Double Dragon in the list, but I prefer games with a diversity of characters archetypes, not too similar ones.
(Even if the gameplay is good too)
Again, it's only my personal tastes, not an "objective" opinion.
And to be honest, my own project would be number one because I added (plan to add) everything I want to see a in a game ^^;
I certainly forgot some of them, but basically this is it.
EDIT : perhaps I should delete this thread...
Because just like the one they created about "bad openbor mods" it might create some weird feeling, because "this game/this creator is not listed" or something.
Or create some unwanted competitive feeling.
If so, I can delete it.
