The project is currently under development.
Have you guys thought about changing Maki's boots to red instead of brown, because it is almost the same color as her skin, which makes it looks like she is bare footed.

Just like in the image, I think it would look much better.
She will look like this, more less

Only if Maki was color separated, that would be likely. Her footwear is the same color as her skin due to color limitation when Final Fight 2 was created. But what's really strange/funny is that I just found out the shot on Twitter showing her footwear (as well as a similar punch to Chun-Li's) and that was from the US magazine EGM #44.

Yes, I saw this "old" Maki after following @O Ilusionista 's post about prototype version of FF3 characters.
After seeing this early Maki combo finisher, I immediately thought of Chun-Li classic strong punch :D
Even if I prefer the final kick they finally gaver her for this combo...

Nice to see I'm not the only one to notice :)

Really seems like Maki was some kind of Chun-Li...

I understand that SNES palletes have 16 colors and that 1 color is transparency, but even considering that, if they had used the colors from her dress, even on SNES they would be able to make it red since the red colors are already present in her 16 colors pallete, so I would consider it more their preference than a limitation.

Anyways, I think that is indeed a massive improvement on her costume, can't wait to see it 🥰, you guys are doing an amazing work.

It would be fantastic! The game would go from a sequel to the first, to an evolution, showing how comprehensive the story of metrocity is. Remembering Capitain Commando and FF have, canonically, the same city in common

...or, for instance, a mix of how the Ninja House could be fusioned in style with Japan stage from Final Fight 2? 😉 I mean, I was streaming just now the design of those stages in my channel... probably can be a reality, probably not. Maybe take a look? 😁

OMG !! Craziness!!!
To finally see this run animation in your game!
And what Don Vecta did with the BG sprites is just incredible...
Only great things can happen :)

Glad you guys are liking what I'm doing. I wanted to make a fusion of Captain Commando's Ninja House and Final Fight 2's Japan stage. As we speak, I'm building the second floor. Stay tuned.

Looks really cool, but something had crossed my mind: if the sky is that dark and purple, the floor can't be that bright and yellow.
so, what do you suggest? Take in note that the bright colors are due of the heavy lighting on the ceiling, so still works. Outside is evening/night and inside is fully lit.

make sense though I still love the colors
I might try a little into this but of course don knew better than me

About yellow ground.
I feel like the contrast is interesting, and can be due to a vivid light in the actual house.
Something absolutely possible.
Just my opinion.

don actually didn't plan this stage to be dark or night
instead I added rain and little purple colors, which adds to the impression even more 🤭

This is exactly what I had in mind: the place is heavily lit by the huge amount of ceiling lamps that you can see above.

Honestly, I like it as it is. I wouldn't change the color scheme.
