Been working on this for most of the past year now, I'm ready to actually announce it
I got the idea to start this not from my own love for the original Mischief Makers, but a blogger who mentioned once that he missed it. I got the idea in my head, and I got to work, slowly at first. I did something with this i haven't done with any other mod, I decided to find and work on every enemy, the only one that's untested is the final boss. It was also a challenge find enemies with the specific set of graphics, but the Robot Wars and Gundam robots and mobile suits came in handy, even more so, I found the sprites sheets to a robot wars gundam game for the PS2 that gives me some more enemies I can work on in the future.
As for the playable cast, of course Marina is present, and while she still has the basic 4 hit combo, but as yall know I use all 4 attack buttons, and my actual goal with Marina was like, what if she played like Megaman. So I had her shoot lazers from her hands. Mission accomplished. Beastector are playable, all wtith combos to, Lunar focuses more on his guns, so he's like a stronger Marina but a tad slower. Tarus having less projectiles then the last two, he's closer to being the standard beat'em fighter and of course does more damage, the most damage, but the slowest. Merco is very much similar to Tarus, though while weaker, he's the fastest character on the roster.
For a couple months I was thinking I was close to releasing a demo, but either I had to fix something or add something. In the past 2 months I've added Badniks from Sonic 3D Blast after going all this time forgetting they also have 3D redarned graphics, along with some robot monsters from a Lega Bionicle game. There's also vehicle sections. It took a lot of work with Beastector since the sprites for their machines weren't assembled but I pulled it off, and even made a custom one for Marina based on the hover bikes you ride on in Megaman X games. Tje demo is still in the works but there's 4 levels and the first section of the 5th level. The levels at this point are entirely made out of 3D Sonic game backgrounds because I couldn't think of anything other game to use.
My biggest struggle with this mod is thinking there's something missing or not doing enough with it, and I spent a lot of time dwelling on this. So I decided I'll just put a demo out when it's read and see what people have to say about it.
