Project is completed.
My favorite character in this mod is Tigra.

Well, the fact she isn't mainstream also counts for that - I once told Theoz that obscure characters like Red Snake from Martial Masters and Arcueid would be great additions to his Rescue mod.

The only marvel mainstream character I actually like is Spider-Man.

I've been waiting time enough to give a feedback a little thorough.
Eventually, I didn't play with someone but I completed 3 times the game. I enjoy the effort done to diversy each stage and to offer a large choice of characters! The musics and backgrounds form a good unit. So my first play was a really pleasure to discover all of this and the improvements done since the first demo. Moreover, I owe you a lot of laugh when I saw such a crazy secret char! ^^'

But since the second play, I can't help focusing on the lack of thrill due to the big number of lives and HP. I suppose it's because it's a demo but still I'd prefer to play a game where I go to Game over when I take so much hits. I think I'll tell other things later, it take a lot of time to me to write in english.
 
Vision is only Jarvis in the movies, not in the comics. In the comics he's... super complicated. A robot built by Ultron with Power Man's brain waves, but he keeps getting his mind reset so he's really his own guy. Recently he made himself a whole robot family, but that went bad fast.
Sorry, I love Vision. I agree on him being a bit tricky to play in this game. Cool but seems lacking compared to some others. Maybe more intangibility stuff? I dunno, I'll have to try him more. The lightest parts of his red palette look weird on my TV but when I took a screen shot it looked normal on my computer.
Oh, I also got that problem with Beast getting white shadows on a couple costumes. The next time I played those costumes were fine, but then his other costumes had white shadows. Weird!

This game is great though. So fun. Cool look. I wish the Hydra guys were all various greens and yellows though, but I understand it's more in line with the original game, and you want more variety.

Emma is weird to see in this. Was she an Avenger? Black Cat too. I hope for Spider-Woman, Black Widow, Captain Marvel.
A playable Scarlet Witch or Wasp would be interesting too. And She Hulk, but she might be too similar to Hulk? Faster?
Those are the female Avengers that stand out to me. Or somebody like Mantis or Photon, though they are more obscure.

Tigra rules and I'm really glad to see her in there.
Abigail Brand was a character I don't care about in the comics. She seems like a weird hodgepodge, but when I actually played as her I found it a lot of fun. It's a bit tricky to get the hang of, but very rewarding when you do.  I'm still not that interested in her in comics, but in the game she's very cool.

Thor is generally my go to though. I've always liked Thor and I find him very powerful in this. I don't mind that he doesn't throw his hammer. His array of lightning based moves are great, and I kind of like that he can't just run. I did find my wondering why he couldn't fly, but I probably wouldn't really use it much anyhow. Great character.

Oh, I thought about Emma some more... it's strange because I associate her with X-Men. I mean, Beast is an X-Man but he was a huge part of the Avengers, and Wolverine is everywhere, so that's fine. Other than them I don't like crossing my X-Men with my Avengers, but that is the nerd in me. Anyhow, I'm sure you don't want to drop a bunch of work you did but... I wonder if Vision wouldn't be more suited to the changing thing? He does increase his density to become stronger. He could maybe have a mode with even more decreased density where he attacks with more beam/phasing? It might flesh him out more.
That might not interest you, and might be a lot of work, but it's an idea.
And then for Emma's psychic mode you could use Moondragon. She's one of those totally weird characters that screams Avenger to me.
Again, might not want to throw away that work you did.

I also loved the diversity of the robots a lot. When all the dog type robots started attacking... Augh, frustrating but really fun! There is a super good balance in this between frustrating and fun. It felt even better playing against the forklift this go round. And even though I hate it, I didn't mind when two of them showed up later.

One frustrating thing was Paste Pot Pete was off screen a lot of the time, just shooting stuff at me. I couldn't get a hit and timed out during that fight. I kind of wish there wouldn't be a timer during the boss battles. The ones that are lone levels don't have a timer, but I don't know if there's any way to code it to drop the timer for the end. That would be helpful though!

Anyhow, this was really awesome! Thanks so much for making it!

Its an engine bug, but I managed to fix it.

I think its the question which I most answer: The game is not based only in Avengers, hence the name "united" from the title.. They are the main team, for sure, but there will be people from other teams (Defenders, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy - but the comics one, not the movie one-, Thunderbolts, etc.

Spider-Woman (even being a "B" grade character), will be in, same for Black Widow. Don't have too much expectation about Captain Marvel, since I hate that character. She could appear as an NPC down on the line. She-Hulk was planned to be added, but the editor had quit, so she is no more. And I don't like the character too much anyway :)
I love obscure characters, so you can expect some names as Photon, Sabra, Black Shroud, MoonDragon, etc.

It's a bit tricky to get the hang of, but very rewarding when you do. 
Indeed. She is the most tactical character from the game.

There is a super good balance in this between frustrating and fun.
That was my goal :)

The ones that are lone levels don't have a timer, but I don't know if there's any way to code it to drop the timer for the end. That would be helpful though!
I plan to add a time item on the future.

Great update :) Love Black Cat's new aerial attack. Exactly what I hoped she'd get :D Tigra's is decent too.

Switching characters more often will definitely be useful in the later stages where I find I need to change my strategy more.

I'll need to do a full playthrough with Vision and Iron Man to see the combo benefits but I look forward to trying that.

Hopefully I'll record a playthrough soon and share here :)

I must apologize for the awful gameplay, especially on Tigra and Black Cat as I love them a lot but I played badly this time :(

There were also moments where I got very annoyed and almost rage quit the game (when I pause the game) :/ sorry about those. Some were due to the enemies making me mad, things happening that I felt were unfair (such as bosses like Bowman ignoring Avenger Power that I DID hit them with) and other time just annoyed with myself for playing bad.

I encountered a few weird bugs along the way, especially on the ship stages. They're sort of hard to explain but they should be easy to spot in the video. The only one I remember for sure was the dark room on the ship continuing longer than normal and the black overlay running out.

Hope you enjoy the video despite it being terrible.

Yeah it's crazy how he was practically my least favourite character in the game and now he's one of my favourites, lol

I felt I did good with Quicksilver too. I had like ONE moment where I did some cool stuff with Tigra but I was really disappointed with how I played her and Black Cat otherwise. My Wolverine was awful too, lol.

I like Hawkeye's new arrow change speed :) That was a good call.
 
Yeah, that arrow change was never ok to me.  I almost changed Hawkeye to a two-mode character, like Brand. But I trashed this idea, since I don't want him to get spammy.
I still need to change it, to not reset the arrow when he dies.

Now unless some serious bug appears, I will really enter in my hiatus for a while, to care about other stuff.
But this game development continues - me an Jhfer had planning many stages already.

Yeah keeping the chosen arrow will be a great help with him :) combined with the new change speed his arrows will be much more useful. Will the poison arrow be added eventually or was that idea scrapped? It would be pretty cool to nail one of the hard to hit bosses with those so you can keep damage on them.

No more bugs :) but I've done a few playthroughs with Black Cat now and feel there's a couple of issues with her.

Her aerial special is awesome but a little hard to connect with and requires very specific timing with the input so that you don't just fly over the enemy's head, and if you DO fly over their head, there's a high chance you'll get hit by a Flamethrower or a Riot's electricity :/

Bowman, Hammer and Militant all pretty much ignore her Avenger Power :/ She connects the grappling hook and then all three of them immediately do their breakout move which makes them invincible from the rest of the combo. It makes those boss battles take forever with her because she can't dish out any damage :( Overall her Avenger Power feels very unstable. It's difficult to connect the hook and the hits, and so many enemies seem to avoid or ignore it entirely :(

As a side note, Hammer is still impossibly difficult and not fun to fight and with some characters it's a miserable experience. All he did was juggle Black Cat with lightning whilst she feebly missed with all her attempts to hit him because he's invincible so often and hard to hit. Felt bad for the poor woman...

She also doesn't seem to have any move that can hit the Snifferbots, except for her breakout, which is unfair because that damages her to use it. All she can do is stand there spamming her breakout, draining her life bar until eventually they die (or she does...) unless she's lucky enough to catch them in the air with a kick but often they just knock her out of the air with their spinning ball attack before she gets chance.

EDIT: It seems her scratch can hit them actually but it's still a little difficult.

I really don't like the Snifferbots. They feel awkward and out place and I haven't seen a single character who can deal with them very well :/

I'm really sorry if it seems like I complain a lot :( I'm a broken record when it comes to things being too hard but these things specifically were exceptionally frustrating.

Well, quite a work you've made here. Solid graphics, fast paced gameplay, a feeling of great old classic gem from those times when Captain America and The Avengers were fresh and new.

Although your game sometimes trying to make player suffer. And for now is just raw material with many minor problems. But it's cool anyway.

About some characters: I've noticed that Hawkeye can run only on straight horizontal line. When you pressing Up or Down he started walking. It's slows down gameplay and makes him a bit clumsy.

Also about Brand. I understand your concept about her. But how player suppose to fight with Tactical Force and go through whole Hammer level (and fighting Hammer himself. He very likes to use powerful attacks that is difficult to avoid otherwise than blocking).

Some thoughts about characters defense:
I think that in game with that speed block must be constant while you pressing button, like you do for Ironman. But his block have some lag after you release button and that is bad too.

Dodging is great ability for close combat characters (why Wolverine can't do that?), but I think that character must be invincible when use it.

Well, it was clumsy playthrough, but I can say that Ironman definetly good. Although there are some strange things:
- in his level entering animation he flies too far: in "choose level" scene he breakes crate with dynamite and on Maggia ship he contacting with hook;
- he can't turn around while he in flying mode (War Machine and Vision can);
- when his power bar is depleted and you try to fly he jumps and then teleports on the ground without any animation;
- sometimes (not always) after punch from flying mode he could continue attacking with run attack and after that can make shooting attack (but I played with flamethrower version of character).

No. This is to make characters different from each other, as this Hold Block ability is a unique ability for some characters (Cap and Iron Man).

But they are invincible, during the whole animation. I agree about Wolverine.

Vision is not a very strong character. He is more a tanker.
- I am aware of this (I've spotted this error long time ago) but its not my fault - the editor has issues with large collision boxes so I can't check what was going on.
- Its intentional. His laser had a too small area of damage.

I'd say she's not just tactical, she is puzzling. You need to know what exactly she must do in every game situation, otherwise she dies fast. Although she have much more opportunities then any other character.

Well, I like all characters you made. May be I didn't learn to play with them all, but they've got very good first impression. They are all look like good fighters. And they are all different. It's tough work to do that.

And I like them even in first demo, although some of them can't beat level with one credit.

Problem with that this combo works not always and I don't understand how I activate it. It's just happens sometimes.

Indeed it is and its not everyone who understand it. Some people wants all the characters to play on the same way, which I don't agree.

Then it looks like War Machine shouldn't have this ability too.
That was added to make War Machine different from Iron Man. Plus, he is a military guy and a prettty skilled pilot.

You received complaints about Iron Man? Why? Whoever complained about him must have been the same people that thought it was good idea to suggest that you don't use blood with Wolverine, which you should have like you were going to. Who are these people that keep offering you horrible feedback due to not actually being a fan of the comics/characters the game is based off of? It must be the same people that also said that the X-Men shouldn't wear their costumes in the actual movies, but should all were black jump suits, or the same people that said Deadpool should be a character with blade arms, laser eyeballs, a closed mouth, and no costume. Again, stupid ideas and those people were wrong, and shouldn't be listened to. Make your game the same way they made the Deadpool movie, and that is by being a true fan of the story and characters you're making (which you are), and by not listening to all the people who are not. Sorry to write so much about a random complaint about Iron Man, but damn world, get your act together and start recognizing cool stuff again when it's staring you in the face.

Also, about people knowing how to use Vision, or Brand, or any other character. If you stop to think what each character's super power is, and how they would actually use it, and try to play that way, you will understand how to play with all the characters. Brand uses a lot of gun types, and can clean up stray enemies quickly with melee. If you know that, and play accordingly, you will do great with her. She can't be played like a normal beat 'em up where you are constantly in the enemies faces in between hits. You almost play her like you would a strategy game, meaning it's all about yours and the enemies position, as well as attack range and damage, and/or radius of attack. Thor is a melee beast that shoots lightning, so basically just destroy everything that moves as fast as you can. Vision, stick and move with melee, cherish your flight, capitalize on his range moves, and realize that his Ultra is probably one of the best in game, since it allows him to be invincible for an excessive amount of time. If each character in this game played the same, and didn't require you to learn each character and how each one is different, I wouldn't like the game nearly as much as I do.
 
:o I played the second demo now and I'm impressed with the whims of details and sprites of the characters and in the stages. Congratulations!
A suggestion and request: Please add Daredevil, Iron Fist, Gambit, Nate Gray  ::)
