Take a look how I set the bbox and attackbox on my game:

attack3

In the first attack, the attackbox starts almost at the center of the character. In the third one, it covers a big area, because its a combo ender and because I don't use Pixel Based boxes, but Motion Based ones.

Yes, the bottom one is way better - actually, the top one is wrong.
On my game, I kinda mix both versions you  had posted there - the attack box starts always on the center of the character and extends a bit beyond the character members.
Since OpenBOR has no solid bbox (in fact, it has but the method is not good and it will be changed), some attacks can miss the target if they are too close.

I don't wish to mess with the 'range' feature simply because I just don't understand how that works.
Really? range is super easy. You just set the distance you want them to attack - if you use OpenBORstats, you can set it graphically.
I remember OpenBORstats because I didn't understand that software either :-[ There are many things that I don't understand. Basically, most of the things that I've done with the mod is through trial & error and hoping it will eventually work.

Anyway, the bottom one it is then ;) Now I'll just have to apply it to the other 'Toads and then I can re-upload this mod... again :P

I will say that I wish to end development on this mod after this future update. I want to move on to other projects. I know I've said this multiple times and I just keep coming back. But that's because I hate to disappoint you or anyone else. But I have to end it sometime.

This'll probably give me a good idea on how to set those attackboxes. Thanks.

No buddy, you don't own me (or anyone else) anything. You need to work on what you want to work on, in whatever pleases you :)

UPDATE:
So, it's done. Here are all the adjustments that I've made since the release of v.9 on friday 6 December:

- The 'Toads now each have two freespecial attacks.
- The Dragons now each have a grabup attack.
- Fixed a bug in the 'stage selection' screen.
- The 'Toads' attackboxes for their normal standard attacks. You don't have to be as close to the enemy as before in order to hit them.
- Big Blag's second form is now less cheap and does less damage to the player.
- Karnath is now higher up the screen and can't be reached with jumpattacks. He now also charges faster to the player.
- The textboxes for Professor T.Bird don't have any transparancy anymore. I'm sorry, shulbocka, but I just didn't like the way they looked when they were 50% or 75% transparent. It was a bit difficult to read what he was saying, so I changed it back to how it was.

That's quite a lot of adjustments within 4 days. With this, I would finally like to close this chapter. I've uploaded this fixed version to this website and also to Game Jolt. Many thanks to everyone who gave me feedback throughout these past days.

O Ilusionista and Davpreec
I hope you enjoy using the 'Toads now and don't spam their run attacks :P

THanks for all your effort :)
You are very welcome ;) But for some reason, I can't shake the feeling that I've disappointed you with this decision of mine to end development on the mod. You've helped me so much during these past days and also throughout the years, giving me feedback whenever it was needed.

I don't even know you personally, but I do hope you are satisfied with how this mod turned out. It may not be a gem like Mr.Q's mods, but I was never aiming for that. I always had my own personal goal with this mod: That it's fun to play. That's it. That's the only thing I want.

Also, never say "never". Who knows, I might pick up development again in a couple of years. You never know ;)

I rarely experience that I want to end something I love doing. But after so many years and so many versions of the mod, it must come to an end at some point. It's like they say: All good things must come to an end. I have reached that point now.

MadGear great stuff buddy i will check this version out now and will try 2 players with O Ilusionista sometime on the weekend if hes not busy :) im sure it will be fun
Let's hope everything goes well. Even though I've ended development, I am open to bugfixes. So if there's anything seriously wrong or gamebreaking, let me know.

the game doesn't run for some reason on my end
That's weird. It should be running just fine. I've tested it myself.

What version of the engine are you using to run this game? It is recommended to run the game with the version of the engine that comes with the download. Although I have heard from Darknior that the game also runs fine on the latest OpenBOR version. Maybe try a different version of the engine? That's all I can really think of, to be honest with you.

I used the engine the download came with.
I just downloaded it myself to see if I had any problems, but the mod is running just fine for me. I honestly have no idea why it doesn't work for you.

Maybe it helps if you make a seperate folder for the mod. You know, just create a folder called BDD-REVENGE or something, and then unpack the rar file in that folder. Maybe that helps? I don't actually know.

So, what did you do to fix it? Now I am curious :P

just dowloaded a bugfix version of openBOR
I don't understand. You mean to tell me that the OpenBOR version, that comes with the download, is bugged? Then how come I was able to have it running without any problems?

Nobody else has complained about it, so I'm assuming everything works fine for everyone else. I'm very confused. Can someone please confirm if the OpenBOR version, that comes with the download, is bugged?
