Blasphemous - interesting indie game

great pixel art on that game it does look cool so I will just overlook the main character is the tin man from wizard of oz lol

This game is being made by the same guys who did "The Last Door", a Lovecraft'ian  inspired, psychological horror,  point-and-click, 8bit retro pixel art game (wow, that was a long description). It's very high quality (the music is superb), I was one of the backers and I highly recommend it.

Blasphemous is a different thing, though it's looking like the same quality standards will be met. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

But yeah, I also think the main character looks goofy with that silly hat - but he still manages to creep me out a little bit. LOL

Blasphemous is out on PC, PS4, XBox One and Switch:
A lovely pixelart and orignial universe that I wanted to see more often :)

bWWd  the pixel art was made by a long term friend of mine, who had worked with me in some Mugen projects: https://www.deviantart.com/daeron-red-fire

Pretty dang amazing artwork. Hate the main character design, but that's just subjective. Everything looks awesome - this guy knows his stuff. I'm curious what engine he used. Before someone asks, yes, you could most certainly run this on OpenBOR. In fact if I didn't know better, I would have thought this was OpenBOR - visually it looks like a much more polished version of the Castlevania module floating around.

No matter what I say kudos and hopes he makes some bank for it.

I am going to buy the game but im excited for the artbook that comes with it, i like the art style a lot and designs as well, its made in unity, ive seen their development a bit.
They designed stages from various bricks and overlaid graphics on top later, which is interesting approach, it speeds up the work on such game with many platforming levels to design.
I suppose it could be done this way in openbor, but would require to create these multiple shapes of bricks/elements to walk on first.

I've known about this game for a while, but I've only recently got interested in it, and didn't know it was just recently released. Seems like it'll be punishing but I'm in the mood for a 2D action titles. The detail when it comes to gore reminds me of Eternal Champions which is pretty cool.

Haven't played this game, but have been watching a playthrough of it with a friend. Not something I am interested much in playing, but man, do I love the artwork, animation, and all that stuff. Really breathtaking all the hard work that went into this with the animations, the backgrounds, etc. The game is brutal and very bleak, but it's the kind of bleak that doesn't make me feel brought down inside. It's oddly ethereal. Those graphics, especially knowing it's all pixel art, that is really something to congratulate on part of the developers here. Very well done in that aspect.
