Hi - I got a nice air combo working by chaining air attacks with free specials-
my only question is - can I set some sorta flag that allows me to continue the next cancel only if the first hit actually makes contact with the enemy?

And I attached 2 illustrations that are so amazing you might rethink what the meaning of art is.
I apologize in advanced if I discourage all of you artist out there from ever even trying to make art as good as the one attached.

* you've been warned*

~{hits} defines how many hits attackboxes in this animation must hit before cancelling is allowed. It doesn't matter whether the attacks are blocked or not. If you don't want to have this limit, just set it to 0.

It was right in the manual - Gosh OPENBOR so awesome !!! where have you been all my life!

Sorry guys - you can delete this thread if you guys want.

Is there a way to check to see if the character is on the ground before canceling into another freespecial?

I'm working on the air combo, then finish up with the final air freespecial which brings both the character and the enemy to the ground then cancel it into another freespecial on the ground then cancel it into another freespecial.

Final air freespecial -> cancel into ground freespecial -> followamin into ground freespecial -> cancel into ground freespecial

I used landframe 1

delay 5
.....land01.gif
to have the character land on the ground

My problem is that sometimes the character is still in the air a bit while performing the ground freespecial after performing the final air freespecial.
Meaning that the ground freespecial ends up executed between the air and the ground which screws up the followamin freespecial. This makes it so hard for me to cancel into the last ground freespecial.
I hope it makes sense..

Can someone please give me some advice?

Thank you

Somehow this sounds different than your question before that quote  .

But anyways, how exactly do you perform cancel? by key combo or automatic?

By key -> by key -> automatic -> by key.
I found the Daimao Cancel System on this site which has solved my problems.
I just forgot to edit my question to "solved"
Thank you anyway Bloodbane
