Most of my designs are single sprite (for the moment)
Most of my enemies are scalled up
For some of them, sprites rips are not available.

Roughly this size and style.  Enemies with bats, knives etc. or ninja martial arts style enemies.

I just have what's on spriters-resource.com/spritedatabase.net  Also I'm going to use some from Violent Storm, re-sized like 60-70pct.
Some of these sprites I'm editing palettes slightly for more colour separation - or at least so I can make decent remaps from them. But the palettes aren't quite final, I plan to tweak all palettes in the game eventually.

There are many options there. Or you can try "_Resource Chars", there are many common enemies.

There is not much anims for this punk.
He's a BG character in Dudley stage (SF3 NG/GA)
All he can do is a "f*ck u" movement sometimes.

Nah it's cool like this for now, I'll make WIP thread eventually.  I started this mod a while ago, but this thread has helped me get motivated again.  Not much to show because a lot is added in game but does not have proper palettes/sprites yet.

I'm having more fun with this mod now, decided to do a proper effort and edit sprites more to suit and rethink what enemies I have.
Putting in more work on these turtle sprites, if I edit the palette again we can do stuff like this for remaps

  Just by choosing remaps we can have full head bandannas for example.  naturally a choice of colours too.

Going to take a while to edit them all.  Casey Jones is a nightmare, but once I have it cleaned up we can have better palettes.

(just a quick test with minimal editing) I want to give him baseball bats, golfclub and cricket bat, also his carry bag. I might even try to replace his big ugly feet.  But because this will take a while I've coded him in game already.

Yeah that spite is cool I was thinking of using it.  I really need some goons with weapons thou, got a few new enemies in game now, but they all just punch and kick.  Need some guys with knives, bats, chains etc. I think  I'll still use the crime fighters bosses for enemies, they need a slight resize, but they suit the game well.  I already had the stage 1 boss added. ATM he is in game with scale 1.2 set.

Just so many enemies from final fight, I don't want it too feel like final fight with tmnt chars. 
I'm going to edit some of them to hold bats, knives, molotov's, guns etc.  It doesn't make sense that they would keep coming back at the turtles unarmed.

Originally I tried to avoid the famous enemies, I wanted to use more obscure sprites like this.

- I love this enemy from the 'Spawn' game, but i couldn't make his buddies look good in game.

I even had GBA sprites, I love the attacks this enemy has, but the sprites are hard to make fit.  I think it could work with the right palette.  but replacing some of these charss is what I'm trying to do now.

Some of them resized with new palette does not look as bad in game as you would think, it gives the game a kinda hand drawn feel sometimes, and with HQ filters it looks pretty good. 

The turtles are weird to judge scale.  IMO turtles are usually made/drawn shorter than most humans, but should look bigger/wider in body shape.

Yesterday thou I spent a while messing around with the HUD - gotta decide now how it's going to be handled so stages can be sized to suit.  I really hate having one at all, 4 players is hard to make fit.  I think I might have to make it like in D&D Endless quests, so all 4players have stats at bottom of screen, rather than one in each corner of screen.

Agreed, it's too big.  I can't really think of anything thou. I just used D&D icons as a base so i had something to try in game to get an idea for size.  If it were at bottom of screen it would not overlay play area.  So hard to make 4players fit. I already had to rename the chars to have their short names - lucky that works for tmnt.  - Know any 4 player mods with a good hud for an example?  Trying to make it minimal, with small lifebars.

Yeah perfect sprites Ned, I have all these ready to be added in game already.  Anything that looks similar to these kind of enemies I'm after. 
I actually have quite a few added already, mainly the problem is that most sprites I have don't have many moves, so need some tougher bad guys to mix in.

EDIT: I should of asked, I've been trying to work out the right size for those violent storm sprites.  I've tried like 60-70pct in RotSprite.  What do you think will be best?

Both seems OK to me. About quality and renderer.
But 70% seems a little big if you compare (particulary with Casey)

I know the answer, but are you going to apply another palette to these enemies.
It can really mix them with the look of the actual game.

BTW all these punk/thug enemies will only appear on a few early stages.  The main enemies will be the various foot soldiers, triceratons, Utroms etc.

Palettes will all be tweaked, once turtles have default palette finalized I can match everything else to them.

Yeah Casey is weird size if you go by his feet, he's kinda too big but still too short.

yeah probably the bottom will be best.  This one was too big thou, need a better design.  This type of thing I'm not very inspired to make.

Well, what about TMNT beat'em ups? they have simple HUD for 4 players
Though if you have extra features such as XP, level and MP, you'll need extra space to show these or IOW you HUD won't be so minimal
BTW you should just remove 'health' and 'energy' text. I believe player knows which is which
 
Yeah i was thinking of making it just HP and PWR.  i actually might not have any need for mp/energy.  I was just thinking of adding energy cost to certain moves so you can't exploit them.

I was going to have tmnt arcade hud, but I don't like the top of screen being covered.  I also hate loosing real estate for stages by having HUD at the bottom.  Maybe if I made it transparent it would work.  Just a lot of hassle making HUD because I have to decide before I continue on stage designs.
