In Progress Creating a TMNT mod suggestions comments ideas?

The project is currently under development.
Looks like a nice base for fugitoid and i asked about the names simply out of curiosity i was thinking of tmnt rise of the foot for my mod but that's not set in stone for now im focusing on developing gameplay for the game

If you guys madfe spritesheet with all turtles bodyparts like i did then you could easier create new animations using some cutout software which doesnt introduce any blurring to sprite and its very easy to work with, i did this in spriter animation software in about 2 minutes or so

Its not super complicated but its very easy do do new animtions if you have all bodyparts, you can rotate them and switch to different bodyparts int the middle of animation and it preserves sprites sharpness.

Yeah I definitely want to try this, I'm just not sure I could actually make anything that good.  I've just been working on extra attacks from sprite edits.  Mikey and Leo both could use more attacks, they currently only attack with one hand.

Yeah I noticed that about them too I've been editing some new attacks for them but I need to put a little more time in effort into them before they're good to use in game but I think you should give it a shot you might be surprised by the results :)

@Lictbringer - agreed, but thegreatness was asking about it.

@therain237 - Forgot to mention esn23 has offered to sprite April, we're just deciding on between a few bases.  Here's a test concept he did.  We had resized this one, but decided it's not necessary.

She will fight with katana like in the archie comics.

Bases (suggestions) still Needed -

Bebop
Baxter
Casey Jones
Fugitoid
Rock soldier
Rocksteady

Yuri is a interesting base for April, for Casey Joney you could use Duke from Burning Fight or Cody from Final Fight.
The only thing you would have to add would be a hockey mask and his weapons.

I don't have much Ideas for the other chars now but afaik there is a Rock Golem boss in Night Slashers, maybe you could  use it to create the Rock soldiers, you would probably need to resize it.

Wich tool is that? its awesome!

And Beastie, maybe those logos could be useful to you http://scrollboss.illmosis.net/minilogo_index.php#tmnt

spine is super expensive tho, spriter is relatively cheap and great for aseembling new animations for sprites, you can swap hands and legs very easily, just cut them out from turtles sprites and you can create new animations. The one that im using the most (stickman) isnt that great for such sprites cause it blurs them and doesnt keep original scale.

yeah, I got Spriter but I don't understand a thing :) I need to spend more time with it.
But the result is very nice. Its impressive how the program doesn't screws up the pixels.

well it does a bit if you rotate bodypart cause its nearest pixel method and one other method specifically for pixel art but its still in development and if someone would suggest them to add rotating method like RotSprite for example then it would look much better.

I was thinking of editing the elite foot soldiers using strider as a base here's a quick look at what I have so far

Interesting idea, did you make the strawhat by your self or is it from a other char?

Yea the hat is from the animated version of raiden for mugen i just wanted to see if you guys felt it would be worth editing. Beastie's making foot elite soldiers as well im really only testing the water with editing things but i would really put in effort if it would help beastie and therain. I want to make a mod but way down the line if at all, I'm more so looking forward to what these guys pull off

Thegr8test a important point for editing is to find the right base, if you have a good base for some sprites it will save a lot of time, the best way is to find a base that resembles the char you want to create in as many aspects as possible, or has some realy important details or graphics that are hard to recreate, like the freaking cape.  ;D

Because of that I suggested Zantetsu from Last Blade, he is already a Ninja with straw hat and cape, and his weapons are separate sprites that can be removed easy with a emulator, and later be replaced with other weapon sprites without a lot of sprite repair on the main sprites.

But Thegr8test don't get me wrong, any other Ninja in the right spritesize will work too, but it would cost more time to make the necessary edits to make them resemble the Foot Elite.

Yea your definitely right im willing to use other bases just to have some variety between all the turtle mods so i dont mind the time besides beastie put alot of time and effort into color separating the turtles while converting bwwd's sprites to fit with his mod and the rain has made splinter using different characters so you definitely have to be willing to put in the work to get your results

@BeasTie

I was searching for a base for the Rock Soldiers again and had a simple idea.
You could use Traag from the Arcade game as a base for the Rock Soldiers, Traag looks just like a normal Rock Soldier, he is normaly just bigger as the normal Rock Soldiers, but his size would fit with the Turtles from the Tournament Fighters.

Size comparison:

And maybe you could use the Rock Golem boss from Night Slashers as a base for Traag or Granitor.

Hey beastie is this the fox character you were talking about using as a base for alopex?

maybe foxie roxie

It can't be the Cybernetic Kitsune or Foxie Roxie, because I asked him before and his answer was this:

@Lictbringer - nah, it  it was something I saw while browsing http://www.spriters-resource.com/ - I was saving a lot of sprites but somehow didn't save this important one. :(  I think it was maybe some DS game, a modern game anyway, from some anime I guess.  It was a fox/dog like female char in oriental clothes.  It was kinda last blade sprite style. Be good to find again because basically I could just change the palette and be done with her.

Both Chars are from old games, so that can't be the ones he is searching for, the problem is I'm not able to find the game that BeasTie is describing, I'm searched the DS section over and over again and the only Anime style game that reminds me of Last Blade would be Windy X Windam and the only Female Char sprites that would come close to his description would be Izuna but she looks not realy like a fox/dog and that is confusing me.

http://www.spriters-resource.com/fullview/52659/

I don't think that this is realy the char he is searching for, but the problem is that it is hart to search on the spriters-resource because the preview icons can sometimes be realy misleading if you don't know the game, so the only option would be to search every sheet on the site for the sprites and that would be even to much work for me.
