Hi everyone  :)

A few friends on mine on a couple of forums mentioned this site as a good way to create some awesome games. I glanced at a few of your projects and I would like to say you guys are doing some great work. This seems like a great forum that has a lot of good users who seem to support each other with creating their games. I had a few ideas of my own and I felt like this would be a nice place to try and create a game of my own. It seems complicated but with a little time hopefully I can get a great grasp on how to create a game and share it with all of you guys. I also look forward to see some of the projects everyone has created on here as well.

Hello! Welcome to Chrono Crash. I'm still kind of a beginner, but its really fun here. I can't wait to see your first bor mod!  :D

Thanks guys. I'm going to read up on how to create mods and hopefully good things will happen from there. Can anyone tell me how to get started with the basics?

the first thing you should do is play as many openbor games you can, use it as knowledge material and then
ask for yourself at the end of each game, what was the great and enjoyable moments of that game and what are bad or boring moments

with this will help you to avoid those boring moments when you are developing your own game

so the first step should be play a lot of openbor games, the second part is  learn how to extract one game and edit it to make it a little better from your personal taste ( no need to release it) use just to get familiar with the openbor development and get some experience
later start one public project showing what you have learned

That sounds like an awesome idea. It looks like a lot of these games are extremely fun so I would like to play through a few of them. Like you said it would give me a great idea of what direction to gear my game towards.

I'm a huge fan of Double Dragon and I would love to create a new version of the game one day. For now I think I will take your advice and test out a few games.

Okay. I have played three so far:

Final Fight Championship Edition
Dragon Duo
Double Dragon Extreme

A long time ago I played Double Dragon Fists or Rage and Street of Rage remix. Have any of your guys played any of those games?

EDIT: I also played Double Dragon Forever as well. I plan on playing some more games while I have the time. Any suggestions (Well besides all of them. Lol)?

If you like the Double Dragon style with 2 attack buttons like punching and kicking, I prefer you can try out World Heroes Supreme Justice Extra. :) You can look for it in its topic under complete section.

Maxman: That sounds like a good idea. I used to love World Heroes on Neo Geo.
Nsw25: I was on the midway and kamidogu forums and they mentioned that game. I will definitely give the Mortal Kombat game a shot for sure as well as Rocket Viper 2.

I second World Heroes Supreme Justice Extra it was awesome!

I'd also recommend Night Slashers X, 8man, TMNT Red Sky Battle, TMNT Wrath of shredder, Double Dragon Returns Mr Q, Art of Fighting Remix 3, Golden Axe Myth(original sprites) and all the games in my signature.

You have a lot of catching up to do Merc.

I used to like it too, but only on SNES (I played). I always used Hanzo all the time and he was my favorite character in both part 1 and 2. Also, I forgot which installment of World Heroes I played one time long ago whether it was Perfect or Jet, where they used to have 3-on-3 match or something. I didn't know there was a 3-man team and I was usually used to 1-on-1 battle as the previous. Played it, lost. :P

Return of the Double Dragon, right?

I remember there was a working version from one of the older builds of OpenBOR that LBF told me, but I forgot what the old version number works for 8man. Do you know?

Sorry my mistake I meant to say Returns, I also add in Double Dragon Genesis v2.

I lost 8man when my old HD died, so I don't remember, isn't there a 4shared link with a lot of the old open bor games? I think it belonged to Fighting something I forget.

crimefighter: Can you provide me a link to those games. I found a few of them, but I am missing the rest. I guess not all of them are in the completed folder unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.

Sure

A lot of the good SOR ones are here:

http://www.soronline.net/fangames.htm

http://www.goldenaxemyth.com.ar/ Golden Axe Myth

http://www.g4g.it/2010/10/09/open-bor-games-collection/ (I found this I don't know if it is legit though? Looks real?

Which other ones were you looking for?

Returns? I only see Double Dragon and Returns, and I don't see Double Dragon Genesis you mentioned to Merc. So you only refer to Double Dragon Genesis, right?

BTW I found the old version that can work for 8man so I have it! I thought I lost it at first till I found it now.

I just finished World Heroes. It was an awesome game. I definitely loved the balance, control, and feel of it. I definitely want to try out the Double Dragon and Ninja Turtles games.

Double Dragon Genesis
I got a link, there are ads though but it does work. It's one of the better Obor DD mods but I wouldn't say it is groundbreaking. Double Dragon Returns by Mr Q is still my favorite DD Obor game though.

It is great every-time you beat the game you unlock a new character, there are 7 characters to unlock IIRC, Kisarah is my favorite. Now you have to play Rocket Viper 2 v4 (the best Obor graphics, some really impressive backgrounds etc) or any of the others I've mentioned.

I found a torrent on btdigg.org called OpenBor Games, if you use a bittorrent program like qbitorrent, it's very easy to download, you can even choose which ones to download, you don't have to download all of them.

Here is the magnet link:
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:8ce5ef472b940f19f7316b7a1fecd6dd4daee4fd&dn=OpenBor%20Games

Some info for the torrent: 180 MB Games/OpenBOR v3.3678/Paks/Rocket Viper 2 (v2.41).pak

It can be a little confusing at first but it is really easy once you get used to it.
