I found some downloadable content here http://smartlip.com/symbian/flist.php?cat=roms/obor&sort=date&red=&b=2 ... Will download content of Lavalit also be imported ? Are the old forum members gonna be informed of this new site ? That would be nice

update: I forgot to mention this link http://www.snk-neofighters.info/forum/showthread.php?8386-Ultimate-OpenBOR-Games

As it says in the news bar, we are working on restoring the downloads and other content from LavaLit.

To answer the second question, we are doing everything we can to inform the LavaLit members about the move.  The URL www.lavalit.com already redirects here.  The Facebook pages for LavaLit and OpenBOR have also both put out updates informing users of the website change.

Yes, I also have contacted some old members via youtube. Only 1 reply so far but at least they have been informed about this site :)

I'd like to know if any of you know if these issues have been discussed before. I don't remember reading anything related .

1 - Is it possible (and/or allowed) to create a forwarder, let's say, on Wii - directly to a PAK? If so, does anyone knows if this feature already exists ?

2- What consoles that currently support Openbor?

3 - If not listed, does anyone know if there is a release for any of the following: DS, WiiU, Playstation 2 - and if so, r they mantained or abandoned? Where I can find those? I found a list here and there... but nothing specific saying "home consoles" it appears that all are for PC.

Thank you all ... Very happy to find Lavalit new home

I don't even know what you're talking about... you mean packer.exe for Wii? Doesn't your computer do that already?

Dreamcast (only up to a certain 2.0 version, not 3.0), Wii, PSP, PC, Mac, GP32X(?), and I think Xbox.

No DS release, not enough RAM or something. WiiU just came out, bro; homebrew can only be played on it via Wii-mode, otherwise there's no current means of running homebrew from the WiiU menu. PS2 has a normal BOR port, and SX tried many unsuccessful times to port OpenBOR to it, but it has been long since abandoned.

Thank you NickyP  ;)

A forwarder is a channel that appears on Wii main screen istalled by a .wad file that allows direct access to homebrew aps. Ah, and yes, the PC. ut the kid wanna play in Wii as a regular game ::) so ...

DS has a card available for it called R4 that supports EMUs without homebrew. I think but I'm not sure that it has some feature built-in to help its hardware so... thare's a chance... if I'm not wrong

What I was thinking on PS2 was to run it through a mini-Linux distro in PS2. But I don't know if OpenBor runs on Linux. Either way if its abandoned that's allright

Thnaks again

yeah, but its not perfect. Who knows why, it can handle NeoGeo emus, but can't handle GBA emulator, because DS already have the code on its core.

Too bad. I'd like to see openbor on 3DS.  :(

I was thinking about different releases of Openbor...

as people are developing lots of different playable PAKs, I guess we are coming to a point that or some of our PAK collectibles are going to halt or the new ones are not going to open.

Let me take GIJOE for example. I Remember Count Monte recommending a specific openbor release, that by that time I downloaded and I am using on my Wii successfuly. But one of my my PAKs I guess Justice Heroes or smt like that got the start screen shrunk with that openbor release.

I am afraid that a change to a new release to play new developed 'openbors' makes the previous Paks stop working or looking awkward.

Is this possible? Or the developer usually tests on more than one openbor release?

Development time is very limited, so the policy (which I will post in detail later) is as follows:

Old versions of the engine are NOT supported. End of story. If for whatever reason a module author chooses to develop for a specific engine release, that in effect becomes "their problem". This isn't to be mean, it's just not reasonable for the development staff to try and support multiple versions of the same engine, especially due to point 2 which is...

Every effort is made to make the latest engine fully backward compatible; every module from the original Beats of Rage and up should play on the latest release. The only exceptions being modules that contain certain version specific "hackarounds" that we advise against using because they are not stable nor required to get the desired functionality (see point 1).
It's important to note that on the second point, we rely on the community to help us test and report; there is no feasible we the developers could possibly test every module upon release of a new engine version.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the topic, but is it ok to include a specific OpenBOR version in an upload? Because I wish to upload BDD: The Revenge, but the best version of the engine to play that with, is version 2322. If you use newer versions, you'll get messy colors during the game.

So, is it ok to include version 2322 in the BDD: The Revenge upload?

its better to update it to work with new version, but my battletoads have respawn and spawn anims of zombies swapped and i still didnt fixed it  ;D

Is the openbor releases download section up for home consoles? I need to get the update on Wii Openbor. Could anyone provide me a working link for last stable Wii release? Thanks in advance
