what can we do?

when it comes to the upcoming video-game censorship and purge trough the use of payment processors, yes - you could call visa & mastercard, but that will only go so far - eventually they will black list numbers & just don't answer or do something even trickier down the line...

here is a thought: STOP USING CREDIT CARDS FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR 2, CANCEL THEM - USE CASH AS MUCH AS YOU CAN
>get physical media, learn to localize some of your steam games, play the backlog of games that you have, use crypto currencies to buy games if the option is there..... play mugen , openbor , romhacks, starve them for as long as you can..
>if you have the smarts or have the capability and the social connections, create your own payment system (rippaverse did it)
> its the current banking and payment system that will be used to 'protect' people from "sensitive content" its not advocacy groups, its the big dogs themselves who have been trying to "change narratives" and "force behaviors" well before 2019

now for the second vector of attack:
mandatory ID to browse the web, youtube , spotify even wikipedia and google search for $%#$%" sake

that's ironic, pewdiepie says he is done with google and their products, but still uses youtube as a platform...

indeed, lots of youtubers are going to be done for in the upcoming years, pewdi is big so he might be able to endure for a while longer and move on to his own portal or website (see clownfish tv) - but yt channels like mine that exist for the love of sharing things & no monetization are done for if ID verification is needed...

I'd rather not, that channel, and others like it are nothing but cesspools for hatred. They want to veil themselves with the "anti-woke" label, but are most of the time just a bunch of hate farming bigots.

of youtubers who know and have seen things coming multiple times - and there are about 8 things over these past few years where they have had good predictions, and they know their youtube prescence is shaky

i check channels and media from all sides of the spectrum (some more news, bill maher, last week tonight) since there are huge blind-spots all the time....

and its funny to hear the mental gymnastics and cherry picking of them - while acknowledging and taking notes on when they get things right - example
thanks to some more news i managed to defend myself well against an encountner with some athorities -

and unfortunately troughout the years one of those medias - 4chan - has been very helpful especially on 2019

but when it comes to roblox, it seems that their brand does not seem tainted-

seemed sus to me and smelled of distraction, but me gut was telling me the fact that
visa and mastercard where extrangely relaxed about it meant something stank to high heaven

Ahh good old Google -
some people in this forum have already experienced issues on the newer devices and the openbor engine,
personally a couple of emulation projects i had with mupen and n64 retexturing got screwed with the recent droid dev requiremetns
and now this upcoming B@$hT....

Dude... Android IS open source. Open source or not open source has absolutely jack spit to do with app signing. I can make a fork of Android right now, and modify it to do pretty much whatever I feel like. I could make it demand you send me 10 bucks on PayPal every time you want to make a phone call if I wanted to, or go the other way and have a standing API open to run whatever virus of the day your heart desires. Hardware vendors just happen to use a fork of AOSP that is curated and locked down.

What you're talking about is ecosystem paradigm. For smart phones, it's absolutely closed, always has been, and will only become more so as time passes.

Why? Easy. You don't buy the OS - see again, you can go download that for free right now (see below). You buy the device. So who's going to run a fork that's not locked down? What will it run it ON? The platforms that people want to buy will run the Android that the platform maker wants - and that's going to be the one that makes them the most money. App signing allows gate keeping and skimming in the name of security. Customers will grouse. Some will jailbreak, some will boycott. Most will shrug their shoulders, move on, and never know the difference at all.

@DCurrent - thanks for the links

it would be nice to develop a droid fork or OS that does not require jailbreak at all & no app signing so when it comes to stuff like the Openbor engine and games in general, - (provided that the hardware allows to burn the custom ROM or OS) - a system that you could install on a 3 year old device focused purely on entertainment apks -

as far as i know the biggest difficulty for smart phones is that there seems to be a "block" when it comes to creating an android system that could work in a large amount of devices, unlike PCs where you can have a privacy OS boot from the HDD or usb or even the sd card slot and it will work in the majority of machines.... android OS or custom roms a usually build for the specific device - (as far as i know)

personally , i have had bad experiences with some custom android ROMS, that end up bricking the devices - it is very weird, because in some cases i had done it on devices of identical model... one survives and the other for some weird reason just stops working after a week - needless to say, i am not a fan of android devices, lots of dissapointments and wastes of resources.

if you rely on notifications to check on your favorite channels just take a few moments to
make sure to check you youtube settings


its bad . so bad that even red letter media is talking about it



hypothesis: its not mere censorship at play - the might be a tech advantage too, since the youtubes want to become more advertiser friendly, restricting videos might help them save resources at the same time while silencing certain channels -
a large chunk of users never check settings, some channels and videos become invisible, so less traffic to them , less resources allocated to them, while youtube redistributes the resources on recommending more mainstream slop and their awful ads
