i'm starting to get the hang of this openbor modding and it's coming along, people said that they saw my project and to better understand it they wanted to test it out for them self so i decided to let fellow members try it out, i got 5 player in progress and they are: ryu, karin, sakura, strider, and psylocke all in sfa style and more on the way i just wanted to make this demo but i'm gonna need some stage ideas

i still plan on improving it and two thing i really plan on doing with this is to make a story mode and just a normal mode like in tekken 6 scenario it had a story mode and a normal online mode.
 
Hey good job, it already has a fun fighting style so you've got game play covered.

Before you start working on stages you should consider changing resolution.

 
if the screen's too small i can always expand it, btw which player do you like so far? and if you haven't figured out the moves i can tell you some of their feature that i did so far.
 
Just so you know, changing resolution just gives you more screen space.  It won't resize/scale the stages and bgs for you (for example like MUGEN does).  You will have to redo stage offsets or even resize background images.  So it's best to decide before you work on stages.

All the chars are pretty cool to play,  I think maybe psy, ryu and strider were most fun for me.

Some other chars have some minor offset issues, like ryu, you can see shadow under his feet. And some anims need minor delay or frame adjustments, like sakura's running.

BTW the file size is huge for a small demo.  The music files could probably be reduced quality to avoid big file size, without noticing much difference. (Or just remove them for the test copy to save on upload/download.)

There was also like 20mb+ of thumbs.db files.
 
i can do that but i guessing that the people who saw this topic might've downloaded it but i'll try to correct some errors and make a smaller sized (byte) demo for faster downloading.
 
Np, not trying to nitpick, just a heads up.  ;)  Also you could try .OGG format instead of .BOR

I figured you're in the middle of working on it so wasn't going to bother mentioning that stuff, but just in case you missed it.

If you do update thou, I think Karin is missing offset in her special (she moves to bottom of screen).
 
oh yeah guys sorry about karin i'll work that problem out soon and about that energy shock i gave her to make her more fun do you think that's alright or should it just be something that only jubilee should do?, not that i made a jubilee or downloaded anybody else's.
 
I can't say much about your characters of choice, they have been used oftenly in other mods.

As for stage suggestions, it really depends on story you are going to have. If your mod is storyless, you can just pick any stage you like. But if there is a story, you need to pick correct ones.
 
It seems like Marvel super heroes stories.....they also fight against street funks first.

so what you're basically saying is that ryu and strider are too average because they've been used in so many mods right?. well i wasn't planning on going any further with ryu because i made sakura first and i don't need two chars that are almost alike and is there i way to apply rgb indexed on multiple images at once instead of doing them 1 by 1?
