OpenBOR Test Build 6392

@Kratus , what is the difference between 6391, 6392 & the 7123 that you use for Streets of rage?

also, i got really confused & i don't know what version i am using for NS... i should have added that info on the game's notes...

@oldyz,

The differences are documented in github. We do not publicly document changes here until a release because the functions are still subject to change.

Except for the 6391, all these other builds (6392 and 7123) were not launched officially. If you want to use an official stable build, I suggest using from 6391 and below.
You can find all of them here.

The version 6392 was only a test build I made trying to fix some issues mainly related to the controller. It's not official and doesn't follow the correct build order, so I suggest you forget this one.

The build 7123 I compiled based on the master source code with a few updates I did. It was not launched officially, but it's available at GitHub to anyone that wants to download and compile.

By default all builds need to follow the official commit number, the build I'm using for SOR2X v2.3.1 was compiled when the commit number was exactly 7123 and this is why I'm using this number as a reference, but again it was not launched officially because it's not stable. So I'm using this one at my own risk, but after many tests I know that it can fit for SOR2X purposes.

@Kratus, So SOrX2's Openbor is even older than the version NS 2019 has ? wow i thought you where using a modern version.
so this means that some new functions that are features in newer builds are programmed by you from scratch trough scripts...

OK one last thing to clear up - the improvements experienced with version 6392 are gone? (4 player nosame, mostly flawless controller mapping & rumble)

or this post by @O Ilusionista
"All the improvements of this version were merged into the master branch, so they will be available on the next update :)"

means that those functions are now part of 6391?

@oldyz

No, in fact it's the opposite. I'm using the latest engine version based on a most modern source code, and since I started to help in the OpenBOR development, I'm adding new features to both the engine and SOR2X/SORX game at the same time.

All the improvements I made in the 6392 were moved to the 7123, including the controller mapping too. The term "master branch" refers to the main engine source code.

haha - i confused your SOR2X version number with the Openbor version - just to be clear,
SOR2X v2.3.1 uses Openbor 3 unofficial build 7123

So if i use OpenBOR 3.0 build 6391, the goodies of OpenBOR 3.0 build 6392 (mainly rumble & controller mapping) will not be there.

that means that until there is a new official build,
if i ever lose my stored OpenBOR 3.0 build 6392
the next best thing is to use is Openbor 3 unofficial build 7123 from your game

(sorry about being repetitive, but this thread will probably help refresh my memory later on)

No problem buddy :)

SOR2X v2.3.1 uses Openbor 3 unofficial build 7123
Yes, it's exactly that.

So if i use OpenBOR 3.0 build 6391, the goodies of OpenBOR 3.0 build 6392 (mainly rumble & controller mapping) will not be there.
Yes, it's true.

that means that until there is a new official build,
if i ever lose my stored OpenBOR 3.0 build 6392
the next best thing is to use is Openbor 3 unofficial build 7123 from your game
To be honest, the 7123 is better than the 6392 because it has much more updates, including the ones I added and many others by DC, Malik and Plombo. At least for SOR2X it worked well until now, even after incounteless tests.
If I need to suggest a build, certainly I would recommend the 7123.
