Art Phantoms Sprite work

The thread is some time of visual artwork like sketch, painting, or sprite work.
Any wonder y'all edit so well, y'all use Photoshop, a paid program. Oh well, guess I'll try to figure out GIMP.

There are lots of ways to get Photoshop for a song, and no, I don't mean "Yo ho and a bottle of rum". Ex: If you are any sort of student there's usually an academic version you can get.

Yeah I don't have that privilege unfortunately... Only way I can do it is if I some how do some shady business. Im not a fan of that idea.

Don't do that, it takes away the hard effort and learning most of us have spent years practicing, Photoshop doesn't do anything most other programs don't do in the pixel related department and besides there's probably only about 4 members here that use Photoshop the rest use gimp, paint, krita and many more, I used gimp years ago and I tried using Linux recently but they've changed gimp a lot since the last time I used it and Linux has a learning curve I just don't have time for right now.

When you start writing code you'll have to choose which program to use, same applies, some people use code blocks, some use visual studio code, some of the best coders here use notepad. Having Photoshop isn't going to make you a better artist, it's just a tool I'm more familiar with as I've been using it for almost 30 years.

Sheesh, and here I am barely using Draw Pixel Art Pro (the program that I use) for over a decade and a half. Also coding wise I'm either gonna use the CMT or good ol' notepad. CMT will help with the clsn and atk boxes though.

It's hard for me to wrap my head around you using a phone to draw pixel art but I guess that's me showing my age, it would take a lot of skill and patience I just don't have to use a phone for pixel art so hats off to ya 🎩. CMT is a great program if @Piccolo ever decided to build and integrate an image editor you'd have an all in one tool.

CMT would pretty much be Fighter Factory but for OpenBor if that happened lol.

@Phantom9

photoshop cs4 or cs3 is still very useful, things like layer effects, transparent effect , liquify and batch scripts work way faster than the gimp alternatives -
not to mention that recording repetitive actions and then using them is also easier to do in those old programs

If my hardware supports it I may try it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Finally have something new to post. Haven't really been doing anything lately and I wanna change that. So, here we have a GBA conversion of the Kick Finisher from Double Dragon Zeebo in the style of DDA. No, these are not resized sprites I literally made these off of memory. I have a few more things coming as well.

Now that I'm thinking about it... I actually have no idea why I even made the DDA sprites... Cuz it doesn't seem like anybody is giving DDA the Legend Of Double Dragon treatment and adding in all of its cut features (FYI for those who don't know... There was actually quite a bit of canned stuff for DDA).
But... Besides all of that the only thing i can think of is maybe making a mod for DD Zeebo with the GBA sprites, since they are very similar in size.

I don't know why but now I am seriously determined to make a massive color separation sprite sheet for DDA Bimmy & Jimmy. Here is the main idea for it. Yes only 1 sprite is done lol.
