I use gimp all the time and it works well for me, here is a beginner tutorial I made using gimp.
Don't do that, it takes away the hard effort and learning most of us have spent years practicing, Photoshop doesn't do anything most other programs don't do in the pixel related department and besides there's probably only about 4 members here that use Photoshop the rest use gimp, paint, krita and many more, I used gimp years ago and I tried using Linux recently but they've changed gimp a lot since the last time I used it and Linux has a learning curve I just don't have time for right now.
When you start writing code you'll have to choose which program to use, same applies, some people use code blocks, some use visual studio code, some of the best coders here use notepad. Having Photoshop isn't going to make you a better artist, it's just a tool I'm more familiar with as I've been using it for almost 30 years.

Sheesh, and here I am barely using Draw Pixel Art Pro (the program that I use) for over a decade and a half. Also coding wise I'm either gonna use the CMT or good ol' notepad. CMT will help with the clsn and atk boxes though.
It's hard for me to wrap my head around you using a phone to draw pixel art but I guess that's me showing my age, it would take a lot of skill and patience I just don't have to use a phone for pixel art so hats off to ya 
. CMT is a great program if @Piccolo ever decided to build and integrate an image editor you'd have an all in one tool.

CMT would pretty much be Fighter Factory but for OpenBor if that happened lol.It's hard for me to wrap my head around you using a phone to draw pixel art but I guess that's me showing my age, it would take a lot of skill and patience I just don't have to use a phone for pixel art so hats off to ya
