RMM Bosses suggestion thread

I decided to open a topic exclusively for tips for bosses that can be converted to the Robot Master Mayhem project, so we do not mix with other characters. Personally, I really LOVE programming boss-type characters because I have more freedom to create, require less work and time (I've already been able to do such a character in 1 hour only) and it's funny.



===| HOW IT WILL WORK? |===

  • Unless another programmer shows interest in programming, I'll be responsible for the boss's programming.


  • Not all ideas will be converted. It depends a lot on my free time (which is scarce).


  • The main focus is the classic series, but suggestions from other series will be accepted


  • Ideas will be evaluated following the criteria of: Possibility of conversion (not everything that works in the original game, works on this project), Difficulty, Uniqueness (what the boss could bring different from the project) and Creativity.


  • Here, the concept of "boss" are non-controllable characters, usually large on the screen, that we face in the final stages of the games. Then, characters such as "Robot Masters / Reploids, etc. that can be controlled are deleted. Sub-bosses may be accepted.


  • The final word on whether or not the character enters the project is from Laspacho, since he is the leader of the project. But I intend to use the RMM template, them the conversion to the project becomes easier, so if the character is not accepted for the project, I can still program it as a separate character for Mugen.

He's easily the most evil character ever seen in the franchise, and his battle was the end of over 400 years of increasingly violent warfare. He would be a PERFECT final boss.

Hum, Luna looks cool.

I was watching some Mega Man videos yesterday and I found something which could fit the game: Shadow Devil

If we are going to have X and Zero in the game on the future, we could put him too.

But I had one idea: we could re-use Yellow Devil main sprites, changing to dark grey and only using some extra sprites, like his eyes (which is a separated entity), and some blobs. Since he doesn't walk, it won't require too much work - its more a matter of removing the eye from Yellow Devil sprites. Even the Willy Machine are already there.

For that fight, I would disale the time limit, because it can last forever in some cases.

What do you guys think about it?
