i am a friend of Kimono , Kratus and Darknior of the OpenBor communauty, and we are curently working on a Saint Seiya Game using OpenBor engine, with hope we ll finally have a good (and fun) game that will renders justice to all the saint seiya anime fans over there, after 40 years of shitty saint seiya games, 2023 will perheaps put an and to this lol.

Backgrounds look great! But the day blue sky clashes because it's too realistic. And the blur beffect around the stones in the carpet isn't welcome.
 
Hey thanks for your reports! The blue sky is from the manga naruto, but agree it looks too more realistic. The « blur » effect is because the columns are big and are in first layer , and we want to still see the players

I didn't talked about the colums. I meant the zone with stones on the carpet in the first picture seems to have get a sharp filter and then a blur filter. I think it's not aesthetic and it clashes with the rest of the background.
 
is the project still standing? man how cool it is getting, I'm looking forward to being able to play, for me it should improve the golden ones, because these old mugen chars, some of them, are not so cool, otherwise it's very promising

You did a great use of these sprites! Please, tell me the voices will be japanese.
Sure we are long time fans of this anime, since the Club Do days... ;)
 
We are curently working on stage 7 "ice coffin cube" where you have to break the coffin to save Hyoga (in limited time)
You can follow our project here since its a 2-3 years project to have something well finished and satisfaying! You are more than welcome and we need all the help we can for testing, and some sprites and files editing help!!Capture.PNG

Characters are WAY WAAAAY too small, why is that ? So much space is unused it feels uncanny
Id make them twice as big
 
@bWWd you haven't understand, its a BEAT em All! (like double dragon or streets of rage) not a Versus fighting game (sf2 like). Beat em up with big characters are horrible, and the best beat em up always have smaller sprites to allow more gameplay fun, and especially in saint seiya where the temple are HUGE in the anime

you can see how the SUPER looks @ 10 seconds;
i ve also added a fade in/fade out transparency for the ULTRA so that it is more smooth when it appears (@ 20 seconds)

all the kuddos goes to @kimono for creating Seiya movesets (i try to learn and improve some little things here and here)
