Hello everyone here is a optimized version of Rise of Warduke this version is smaller file size of 187mb compared to the original of 274mb.  The file size is not the only difference this mod take about 1 minuet to load compared to the original taking 2 minuets to load (on my laptop anyway).  This mod now uses 125mb ram compared to the original 237mb. I have also lowered the quality of the huge intro videos and made them skip-able.

I did this project so I could enjoy the mod on my android phone and thought I would share in case anyone else would like to try.  please report any bugs / crashes and enjoy.

Don't worry buddy!
IMO optimizations are always welcome!
And a lot of people come here to DL the mods and update without posting a single message because they are shy or uncomfortable with english.
But they are definitly here. :)

Sorry i will look in to it.

edit: it looks like some of the images had their colour count cut under 256 i will post a fixed version up soon.

Thanks so much for these updates. Everything is working great on PC. However, when I add this PAK file to my Android OpenBor pak list, it causes the next game in the list to appear with a ".OGG" in it's name istead of it's normal first 4 letters, and causes the game with the altered title to no longer load/run/work. Is there any way to fix this? It appears to be caused by something to do with a .OGG file.

Here's a screenshot. Sorry it's so big. The game with .OGG in front of it, is supposed to be "Double Dragon Extreme".

I have no idea just to check do you have my slim version and the original version in your pak folder as they may be conflicting.

also try updating your android to build 4424

Thanks for the reply. I only have your version on my phone right now, not both copies. The original also did this same thing as well, so it definitely wasn't anything caused by you, just in case I gave off that impression. I was just hoping that you would have fixed it somehow. I did install build 4424, as well as 4426, and both builds have same issue, so it must be some wonkiness with one of the game files/code, but who knows? The game will load once and allow me to play it, but will then cause Openbor to not load game list ever again unless I uninstall the app, and reinstall. It's almost heart breaking.

try renaming the file to a shorter name like warduke.pak and with all your other mods remove special characters like "( ) - &".

if that does not work last resort not really recommended but try extracting the mod to a data folder place that one level up from your paks directory on your phone then on your pc make a new txt file and rename it for warduke.pak (this file will forward openbor to the data folder) and place it in your paks folder.

the reason I say its not recommended is all your music player and image viewer apps will pick up the files in the data folder when they scan your sd card.

please get back to me with results thanks.

Alright, well I tried renaming the pak to "warduke.pak" and removed every single special character in the rest of my pak game titles, and the problem still persisted. I extracted the data folder and did the rest of the process that you said to do if the first didn't work, but the transfer of the data folder to my phone said it was going to take 3 hour and 45 min., after already waiting about 20 minutes, so I gave up. It's not a big problem though. I was just crossing my fingers. I still appreciate you trying to help though, and for fixing the pak for working better on pc.

Sorry nothing worked for you it could be a bug on the android port but the guy who coded that is long gone.

If you cant wait for a transfer just start it before you go to bed and when you wake up its done and your phone will be fully charged.

Just thought of another fix place warduke in a folder called paks1 and the rest of your mods in paks folder then when you want to play warduke using your android file browser change the folder names around lol its a bit long winded sorry.

There's one android issue we could never seem to solve - when you're talking to NPC's and there's more than one box of text, on PC you'd just hit a button to skip to the next page of text.  But on android it skips past all the text to the last page only if you press a button.

@msmalik681
That's okay nothing worked. I can still play it on PC. I would try doing  the transfer as I slept, but every time I play this on Android, Openbor will not open again unless I uninstall the app and reinstall. Also, I'm huge on organization, which is dumb sometimes, but if I had to make a new folder and switch to it every time I wanna play 1 game, that would bug the crap out of me. It shouldn't, but it does. Hopefully someone might get lucky and figure out what's going on exactly someday, but until then, I can live without it. I still appreciate all the help though. All really good ideas.

@Count Monte
Thanks for saying that. I'm glad I finally know why it does that. It's usually a rare scenario when it happens though thankfully

For some reason, I couldn't see the captions when I interact with certain town's people in the game.
Is there any way to fix this?

I reduced this game size a long time ago (more than a year). And did it without killing audio quality. Just DELETED unused audio files stuffed inside that takes space for nothing, as running over my script which I developed exactly for that purpose, to clean games from unused audio files. http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item283
So the games shrank to 180MB and is here http://www.chronocrash.com/forum/index.php?topic=2240.270

@Adam hunterThe new update has been added to first post to download.  All dialogues should work now it was just a small palette issue.

@netspider1
I based this version on your cut down version when I am giving sizes they are uncompressed sizes of your pak file compared to mine.  and the audio quality reduction is barley noticeable (to me anyway).
