Sonic Boom - Coming soon for Wii U and 3DS

the game seems to be cool, but i dont like the name for me sonic boom will always related to guile and nash in my mind and if i made some day one beat em up featuring guile and nash will use this same title name :P
 
that music choice in advert is a sign that game is quite bad, good game wouldnt need such mainstream crap.

Yeah. This looks like the "Loonatics Unleashed" version of Sonic. I do not have any high expectations for where this is going.

Well then, at least this isn't a borderline Tastes Like Diabetes Fanboy and Chum Chum esque affair like how Pac-Man has become.

So, if everything after 2003 never happened, wouldn't that still mean Big and co happened?

I actually really liked Sonic Adventure. Yes, Sonic's friends in totality tended to overshadow Sonic himself, but... at least it was unique. Sonic Adventure 2 was just playing as Sonic/Tails/Knuckles with reskins and different stages. That's just me, though.  :P

Sonic game? Generations was great. Colors would have been better if it didn't control terribly; same with Unleashed. Lost World I genuinely enjoyed.

I also liked the Sonic Advance series. And Sonic 4 Episode II wasn't terrible; a much bigger improvement over the terror that is Episode I.

So yeah. It's not like I'm stuck in Genesis land :P It just boggles the mind that games from the early 90's had better controls and overall design than games made in 2013.
 
It's funny looking back at this topic when Sonic Boom turned out to be one of the worst games of all time.
 
Funny how I missed this topic, but I talked about this with others on another forum. To me, this game seemed like a good idea on paper, but glitches aside, the content is screwed to bejesus and back, and the cartoon is worse.

This is one of the few times I'm glad something Sonic related failed, one of those other times was Lost World.

EDIT:
I also read somewhere that Sonic Boom will now be modern Sonic, while the original Sonic is now "Legacy Sonic" or something. It would be a nice title but to categorize the entire series that way for Boom? Not the best idea to me.

Being the big Sonic fan I am, I'm kinda hurt over whats been happening to the series over the past few years, but if the games suck once again, not talking about gameplay, I mean content, I'll just ignore them again, and work on my own stuff while I wait for something to be worth my money. The only good thing we got left are the comics. 8)

Just doesn't look right does it.  It's missing that hi-speed feel of the originals.  And is just plain ugly.

Something that was so successful before, makes you wonder how they can keep effing it up.
