Testing with OpenBORStats

O Ilusionista

Captain 100K
Hi there,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I test a char using OpenBORStats? I know the tool have this option, but it never works for me. It simply shows the credits screen and closes.

There aren't any other way besides launch BOR, select the game mode, select the char, run the game, exit to test it?

What I am doing wrong?

Hmm.. Sorry if I cannot understand you right, but if you want to see the problem in OpenBOR (like the character), you need to check the OpenBor log by clicking on the down arrow where the OpenBOR icon is. When you click on the down arrow button, you see three options: Execute OpenBor.exe, View OpenBor log, and View Script Log. Choose view openbor log to view what's the problem. I think it's not OBStats that has a problem, but the engine itself. Let me/us (Chrono Cross peeps) know.

Are you using BOR.exe or OpenBOR.exe? If you're using BOR.exe, I recommend you use Openbor.exe.

Do you have the title images?

EDIT: After you click on the view in the Openbor log, open the Openbor log and it's in the txt file.

Can you open the Openbor log.txt, check the problem, and copy the whole thing from that text and paste it in your post here? If you're using Openborstats, you click on view openbor log so it opens a txt file. If you're in the folder where Openbor.exe is, you should go to the Logs folder and open the Openbor Log.txt. Copy the whole thing from the log and paste it here so you let us see what's the problem.

I know that is an error witht he knife and star, but I am not using those.

And the music isn't playing, there is any special specs? I am using a mono wave file

Most are pretty confused on how to get this working in obstats, there is apparently a way, but it takes some setting up it seems.  I think you have to copy all the required files for the chars, stage etc. you want to use in the test (or something along these lines). You'd have to ask MatMan the creator, he had explained this on lavalit before.

Check the thread in tutorials on making a test level, then you can just set up a level just for testing.

For music either uses OggVorbis .OGG files or you can use the openbor's own format .BOR, which are made from converting .WAV files.  The highest quality format you can have for music is 44.1kHz, 16bit, stereo.  .WAV files for sounds should be 22kHz, 8bit mono.

I thought it best to let MatMan re-post it himself so he has ability to update the download link.

last version of stats was v0.62 !!
(0.63 was released but the archive was corrupted, was waiting on matman to remedy)

edit: will try to upload it somewhere else for now.

hum, my antivirus got crazy with this file.
I had Avast Internet Security and it got corrupted after that file. I've installed the normal Avast and it keeps blocking the file.

Something is wrong with the file for anyone?

I turned off avast and downloaded the file, it said it was corrupted or something but it was  downloaded anyway only without .zip so i added it and unpacked it with avast turned off for 10 minutes, dont have any alerts anymore.
