Hey there!
Welcome to my first attempt at character design and a simple amateur implementation in IKEMEN! I must admit, I've been living under a rock and just discovered MUGEN/IKEMEN a few weeks ago, so I might be a bit late to the party, but better late than never, right?
I'm really passionate about character animation, and for this project, I decided to create my own character using KungFu Man's animation set as a base. It was a challenge, but I enjoyed filling in the spots and replacing the basics. Last month, I crafted a 3D stage and rendered some 2D sprites to see how it would look. Now that 3D stages are a thing in IKEMEN, I thought, why not give it a shot? I explored light baking and glTF files in my workflow, and yes, it's possible! Although, I must confess, I haven't implemented it in the engine yet... because, well, I'm still figuring out how to!
On average, it takes me about 5 days to bring a character to life and 3 days for a stage. It's a bit of a process, but I love every moment of it. With this being my first animation/render/junky setup, I plan to go back and fix things here and there, polishing it up to make it even better.
Now, let's talk about the concept!
The idea revolves around battling office coworkers, beating them up to climb the corporate ladder. It's a simple, mundane, and fun storyline that adds a unique twist to the typical fighting game narrative.
Im looking for an experienced and motivated partner able to ride IKEMEN like a bike
so I can create a full roster, stages, fx, cinematics, and GUI elements.
