Zabu, a new Sega Mega Drive beat em up

O Ilusionista

Captain 100K
Zabu is a side-scrolling beat 'em up for the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis. It is made with the SGDK.
The game is still under development. A demo is available, letting you play through the first stage.

The game in action:

Note: since the game doesn't have music yet, I added some tracks from the Mega Drive's "Street Smart".

Due to the SD style, some people say it resembles Mighty Final Fight, but for me, it reminds me of another game that existed in the Arcade and Mega Drive: KaGeKi (Fists of Steel).

PROS
- Visually, it's quite interesting.
- One of the playable characters...is a bear!
- The first boss is quite challenging, even on medium difficulty.
- The combat flows well.

CONS
Unfortunately, there are two things that bother me a lot in the game:

- The characters' walking speed is very slow. I had to increase the game speed itself to make it better (even though it wasn't 100%).

- It's a terrible idea to mix CPU partner with friendly fire. Because instead of having a partner to help, you end up with another person to hit you – and the CPU hits you easily. And since there's no option to turn off friendly fire, it really hurts the game for me.

But I see a lot of potential in the game and wish the developers good luck!
