Hello, this is a very newbie question, so forgjve me if I am asking something whch has been answered before; but I did a quick search, and couldn't find this answered anywhere on the forum.

I am attempting to run OpenBOR games in my Steam Deck, which runs Linux. At the same time, I have all my OpenBOR games in a roms folder created by an app called Emudeck. The path of the folder is:
/run/media/deck/da31c3e8-6ad2-440b-8ffb-40fe6fb50cd3/Emulation/roms/openbor

Many of the games are untouched and unaltered from when they were first downloaded, and have all their original files. For instance, Golden Axe Returns has "GAME.exe" in the game's base folder, and "GAR.pak" in the"Paks" folder.

But no matter which OpenBOR game I attemp to run, I always get the same error: it's a message which says "No Mods In Paks Folder!" I get this error message consistently, in every game that I try to play.

Can someone please tell me what, exacrly, that I am doing wrong?

Tagging @msmalik681 and @Kratus. They work with Linux and might be able to help you out.

@dreamtime Hi friend. I suggest treating any OpenBOR game like a common PC game instead of an emulator/rom.
That said, just add the original OpenBOR executable of each game as a non-steam game and run in a compatibility mode using Proton Experimental, like I already said in another post.
In case you have the game's AppImage instead of the executable, you can run it without Proton.

It's so strange; my earlier attempts to use proton experimental mostly resulted in the games crashing after a few seconds... but I just tried it again, and the ones that I have tried are working perfectly. Thank you.
