Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android)

In Progress Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android) Beta 33

The project is currently under development.
I know it was asked about around last year, but I was wondering if the 3 CPU Partners mode will be any closer to completion? Only asking because I don't have 3 other friends to play with and would love to kick butt as a 4-piece, even if it is with CPUs. :)
Hi friend. The 3 CPUs are in the plans, but still there's a few steps to be finished before.
But don't worry, I didn't discard the idea :)

I should've made videos on this before, but I just don't feel like I'm good enough at the game for it to be worth seeing. Still, I felt like doing one, so enjoy? lol.
Thanks a lot, buddy :)

@Psykai nice thumb, btw
Totally agree! :)

@Kratus since you mentioned fine tuning mania difficulty, I did play the previous update with double the enemies but still too easy. Think the juggling overwhelms the computer. Maybe SOR2 specials with a health cost and or the AI blocking/countering would help?
I suggest trying the presets in the game settings. The SOR1 is the hardest, no special/energy moves, no juggles etc, just attack/jump and limited cops.
But the idea of improving the difficulty was not discarded, thanks for the feedback :)

SoR2 health cost specials should already be in the settings.

Did you play streets of rage 3 path with the max enemy settings/SOR 2 meter on Mania To test out the blocking enemies? If not, give it a try =D

I don't know if this has been asked before, but are there plans to add the SOR3 grab escape to the game?
@Super Shark Hi friend. I have plans to test enemies grabbing players from back in future updates (currently they can only perform frontal grabs), and then I can make some tests with the SOR3 grab escape.
For now, you can use the SORX grab escape by pressing attack button while grabbed by an opponent, like @Blit-X- TV [LIVE] suggested.

Oops. disregard about SOR2 specials then. And don't get me wrong, the juggling is massive improvement but it does need some vulnerability. Probably because I've played some Virtual Pro Wrestling recently but backtakes or countering could make things more tactical.

@Halcyon Ways I'll give it a try.

Forgot to submit this before but I came across this issue with the HUD when having a CPU partner in the game play.
It seemed to correct itself when going through the options again as you can see at 17:13.

Thanks for the report, I tested and can confirm the bug. It seems that the dot system is not loading properly when starting a game directly using this option already enabled.
But a small fix can solve the issue, thanks buddy.

Hey, I noticed something about Break’s AI in the Stage 3 boss fight. Was it intentional that as he overheats, he starts not to use the techniques such as air recovery and counter and seems to just RUSH? Because when he wasn’t overheating, he was more methodical and strategic, and would mostly counter.

Not exactly, his overheating just changes the movement speed and frame delay to make animations faster. All the other mechanics remain the same.

However, his speed can affect the way the range parameter works, since he will stay closer most of the time at higher speeds and will use certain moves more often than others.

And can someone tell me what’s planned to be added and implemented before the official release?
for the official release, this is the content planned so far:

- SOR1 content: Blaze and Adam, Hockey Mask Guy, Bad Ending
- BKM content: all levels as alternative routes in the SOR1 one
- Beta Zan (still needs more sprites, but is on the way).
- SMS/GG content: some enemies and levels
- Some custom characters like Super Shiva and Ninjo (sent by Adrimus)
- Add all remaining cpu partners, and test 3 cpus at the same time
- Improvements in all playable enemies

And after the official release, I'm still considering adding the SOR Kamurocho route and starting tests with SOR4 content.

Just seeing all of these plans laid out so nonchalantly is exciting. I don't mean nonchalantly in a bad way, just that you make it sound so easy, which as a developer makes me jealous, lol. But it feels like a LOT, like years in time, which is the only sad thing, but some of this stuff like the SoR1 content and OF COURSE the Sor4 possibilities.... If you manage to not only sprite but make Estel work in a game like this, I will be overjoyed. I am an Estel main, and whilst I don't consider myself good at SoR, my friends have expressed awe at me playing Estel and I have managed to ALMOST no-death Mania with her. I'm excited by the idea of being able to play as her in a retro game. And before she existed, Cherry was my main, so i'd love to see a retro interpretation of her too;.

And another quick question. In the Stage 3 “elevator” thing, why are the Tiger enemies less durable than the Electras?
At stage 3, this is the first Tiger appearance and due to this the selected tier is the lowest. Unlike Electra, whose first appearance is in stage 1 and at stage 3 she is around 2 tiers above the first Tiger.

And also, are you gonna give Break the somersault move that he has in BK3, along with the remaining moves from that game?
Is this one? If yes, he already has it.

About the remaining moves, I don't know exactly what of them you are talking about but he has almost the entire Axel moveset.

Thanks buddy :) I'm glad to have your support during this long journey since the first SOR2X.

Indeed the content planned can take some years to be done, but I confess that currently I'm working slowly mainly due to some life issues. But it's a temporary condition and I will speed up the works as soon as some things are solved.

About the SOR4 content, I already tested some sprite resizes and at least the characters will be possible to add. The levels require a lot more work, but also possible.

but I confess that currently I'm working slowly mainly due to some life issues.
I myself am currently worried about life's problems. Starting with increased anxiety,
and ending with strong mood swings.

Because of which I can't normally touch the editor, but I
will try to do everything possible to sort out all the
disorders
