If it isn't working, maybe your machine aren't capable of running the game (which can be run even on ver old machines).
You can try editing the video system in data/mugen.cfg file to something which works on your machine. I am using "System".

I recently had to work on a character in Mugen, and that made me want to go back to working on my favorite Mugen project: Battle Stormer Classics. I should bring some of the bosses from the game Joe & Mac, but I can't bring the protagonist because he's too cartoonish

I forgot that I changed the resultion to 16:9 so it gave me some trouble, but it's okay now.Since the boss and the stage comes from the SNES, I am using SNES music
Splitting all layers would be a nightmare, but at least I can improve the parallax on the floor

That was me, in fact. The original image is smaller than the screen resolution so I just duplicate it.until I saw the original creators hadn't bothered to properly mask the tile boundaries.
