Anyone tried this game? Got it on a whim and played with a friend, pretty fun! Definitely feels like whoever made this liked the simpsons arcade cabinet because this feels very inspired by that in a lot of ways.

2H20 to finish a beat 'em up is still quite long (I hope there's a save system in the game).
Made with Game Maker according to my sources, with a slight Battletoads influence in the attack animations.

I haven't tried it, but it would be interesting to see the range of moves this game offers.

not made with OpenBOR 😞

hence why its on General Gamming :)
I know the author, I've been following his work for quite some time.

Probably should have been (on OpenBOR), but kudos for the scrolling and movement. I'm assuming Unity or Godot, and side scrollers made on those tend to stutter all over the place. This one looks really smooth. Art style works too. Unfortunately, the OTHER fundamental, which has nothing to do with engines at all - offsetting, that needs a lot of work. Her animations would probably be pretty nice with fixed offsets, but right now they are painful to watch.

ye not so much engines (at least the most populars) support sprite offsetting, unless you hardcode it ofc. Unity is mostly good for 3d stuff and godot for 2d but theres not an easy way to replicate a good side scroll system for beatem up, I have a friend that was trying to do that on godot and finished cancelling it and doing a 2d platformer instead
