Canceled Dungeons & Dragons UPDATE

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
I know we teased this before, but I wanted to share one of my favorite little things in the game.  There's a quest to kill the Goblin King at a certain point, and after you kill him you can take his head and it's in your inventory.  If you run into any goblins and pull it out --- well, watch the video:)

Hippodrome updated, 3 more fighters added and this time, order of fight is randomized (you can't tell who you're going to fight)

http://youtu.be/Tdxk0xfm21U

A portrait is shown before each fight to show who's fighting ;)

One of new fighters, Buster (shown in video), was edited from ... a character (see if anyone can guess). His head is from Buster S, Knights of the Round. Since I didn't have idea for name so I just picked Buster for his name

That coliseum was the balls! I liked how the Amazon was kinda like UMK3 Sheeva in her AI style. But... the name, kinda bland. I always thought in names like Helga or Aernndis or Freylaug or Geirhildr or anything viking or Norse would fit on her.

It's looking gorgeous, looking forward to see this baby finished.

Count, this game (Blade Master from Arcade) has many monsters you could use.
Take a look at this:

I know you've heard it a thousand times before. But  this game is cool .and i wood like to ad more to D'Raven sume time

Just wanted to update everyone on the status of the game:

It's coming along great, Bloodbane is truly doing some remarkable work.

-All the main quests are finished, 90% of the subquests are finished.
- All the spells, except for Bard are finished
- About 70% of the items are finished
- All the enemies/monsters/bosses are done
- Just about all of the scenes are done.

Still to do:

- Add remaining subquests (including Jousting tournament)
- Add Cavalier and Bard as unlockable characters
- Finish adding magic/quest items
- Other misc stuff and fixing bugs etc.

The goal here was to do a game like Elder Scrolls (but 2-D) - with a giant overall story mode along with optional sidequests.  Since this is D&D the story is set in the original Greyhawk setting, and focuses on the conflict between the good kingdom of Furyondy and the evil empire of Iuz.  Specifically from the 2nd edition From the Ashes setting.

We took most of the characters from the D&D action figure line by LJN, which also appeared in the Saturday morning cartoon, and incorporated them into the storyline as either playable characters, NPCs, or bosses.

Lastly, because this is D&D, we tried to follow the 'rules' of each character class -- so mages can't use weapons like swords, clerics cant use sharp weapons, thieves can hide in shadows and backstab and steal, dwarves have natural resistance to certain attacks, etc.

Also, many iconic D&D magic items, like the Mace of St. Cuthbert, the Vorpal Blade etc are in the game (and can only be used by the appropriate class).

The nice thing is, if you've never played D&D or have no clue about the toys, you can pick up and play this game and you'll get the quintessential experience.  If you are an old-school D&D fan, then there is tons of nostalgia to enjoy:)

And Bloodbane has done some incredible scripting --
- An inventory system where you can buy and sell items in shops and carry them around and use them
- A magic system where you can buy and learn new spells, with a growing inventory
- A lighting system for dungeons, where you can buy torches or lanterns to light up dark areas
- An armor upgrade system
- LOTS of other cool surprises.

Pierwolf's Endless Quest game and his additional help with sprites and resources has been invaluable and can't thank him enough:)

Anyway, that's the update - we've been working on this for over 2 years now, but hope to release it soon!  It's slow when it's just 2 people, and everytime I test for bugs I play through the whole game from the start and it takes a few days just to complete it!

With the current build of the game its possible to play through the story mode from start to finish, if you didnt know what was still left to add you'd think the game was ready for release.  So we are close, please be patient and I hope you'll think it was worth the wait:)

So fantastic works ... really impressive ... thanks a lot :D
It will be the best and great OpenBOR mod ever made :)

Nope, no demo.  We'll just release the whole shebang at once:)

Here's something I was working on today - we're putting a waterfall level (using a series of platforms) in one of our quests that takes place in the Underdark.  The physics are done, and I've been putting in the animated water.  No enemies/ obstacles added yet but here's a peek:

Sprite versions of the cards might be cool, maybe just something to collect in game. Or bosses could have them displayed before the fight (or something).

(Very quickly made example)

Cards for spells would also look good.

This site has templates and fonts that are good examples
