Canceled Dungeons & Dragons UPDATE

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
There's an old computer game called BARBARIAN: Ultimate Warrior.  I liked the look of one of the levels, and remade it for our D&D mod.

Yep you can convert it!  Maybe you can sharpen the demon's body.  I had to use a smaller sprite and boost the size.  If you can think of a statue body that is the correct size, just tint it blue and paste it on:)

Here's a new level inspired by BARBARIAN: Ultimate Warrior- I dubbed the Barbarian King on the throne as Lord Bloodbane.

Great! ;D
We have to figure out where to put this

Anyways, I've been making new rooms and dungeons, here are some of them:

Tavern:

That's what you get from entering orc infested tavern

Dark Dungeon:

Yep, it's really dark here. Strongheart has used a lantern here before walking

Fiery Cave:

I managed to make tileable panels from fire cave background from Knights of Valor. I made couple levels with these and here are the result.

Fiery Cave is, as name implies, HOT so I added this spell to cool things :

Ice Wall:

This spell is not sold anywhere BTW so player must find it somewhere ;)

What do you mean ?
1. The first time you enter dark dungeon without lantern screen will show only black ?
2. Strongheart was here before with a lantern and when he comes back he sorts of "remembers" the corridors ?
3. The lantern has just burned out, so there's still a bit of light ?

I'm kind of curious ; or just killing time while waiting for this already-gem-of-all-times mod to be released  8)

Fredo, I think I can answer this one.  As you know, we have some dungeons that you'll need a lantern or torch to see well (you can still sort of see but barely).  However, there is one dungeon we designed for the Orb of Oblivion sidequest, which is full of spiked pits and other traps and it's totally dark -- you really can't see where you're going unless you have a lantern/torch.  Not only to avoid traps, but also to see levers on the wall that open doors so you can continue to the next chamber.  That's the dungeon you're seeing in that picture.

Thanks Count, that's what I thought, more or less, but that didn't answer my questions  ::) Could you tell which are true or false from the 3 questions ?

All false - you're just seeing how dark it looks without a lantern.  We might adjust it even darker.  We're not sophisticated enough to have Strongheart 'remember', cool idea though:)
Originally my idea was to just have one dungeon (this one) that is pitch black, you can't see anything at all and to solve the puzzle you have to go to town and find a lantern and come back and then you can see.  I proposed this to Bloodbane, and he went off and designed this whole lighting system and applied it to every dungeon.  There's different degrees of darkness that can be set.  So we have some dungeons that have murky light, some are darker etc and you can buy torches, lanterns and so on.  I wasn't expecting all that, which is why I'm always so surprised and delighted with what Bloodbane is able to create.

Actually, lantern has been lighted there. So you can imagine how dark it is EVEN with light on

Anyways, another shots to show from a sidequest we are working on:

This is maze made of electric traps. These traps, save couple ones, shoots bolt continuously forcing player to avoid them. However, some of them (shown above), go off for some time allowing passage ;)

3 switches at wall and 3 inactive traps just below each switch.
What do they mean? I'll let your imagination answer it ;)

A little above and beyond with the adventure elements. Should feel pretty unique for the genre though.

I feel like I am going to get yelled at XD, but how close to release are things?. Simply asking since it seems like you are still adding features and constantly coming up with new stuff to add, which is not bad, but tends to be both great, and a bit of a tease for people that are eagerly waiting for a release haha. Obviously not asking for a specific release date but, are you hoping to release in may... june... september?.

It's a very fair question Aldenf.  The answer is.... I don't know.  Only Bloodbane knows for sure.  He's got the TO DO list which has the remaining quests and subquests, unlockable characters, and other small misc things to add.  As I've said before, 95% is finished probably.  Once I've written and planned out these things, and done the sprite edits and sent him everything, it all depends on his schedule.
While I'm waiting, I get inspired and come up with new ideas (like adding that evil quest) or new rooms for dungeons, like the 2 I just posted.  And that adds to the list.  So the delay ends up being my fault.  So I'm trying really hard not to get any more inspirations:)

Like that gonna stop Monte from having these inspirations like there is a mystical sword imbued with all the four elements of nature but only to obtain this rare and powerful sword you must collect 4 parts of the weapon by defeating four elemental dragons with enormous power. The quest will be very dangerous but the reward will be stuff from legends.
