Canceled Dungeons & Dragons UPDATE

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
Here's another video showing some new spells and one of the sidequests.
In this quest, you have to liberate the town of Crockport from the evil forces occupying it.  There is a big wall preventing you from entering the town, so your job is to escort a siege tower up to the town wall.  Knights inside the siege tower will then jump out, kill the orc drummer and destroy the wall from the inside and allow you access.
But before that can happen, you have to keep the knights pushing the siege tower alive.  Orc defenders will kill them and the siege tower will stop moving, until more knights arrive to keep pushing it.
In this demo, you can see a few of D'Raven's new spells:  Shield, Summon Imp and Project Image.
-Shield creates a shield around him that will absorb a few hits of damage.  Once it breaks (you'll hear a breaking glass sound) then he is vulnerable again, but can cast another shield spell if he has enough mana.
-Summon Imp summons a smaller helper who can stun, paralyze and attack your enemies.  The imp doesn't have many hit points though.
- Project Image creates two duplicate clones of yourself to confuse your enemies.  If enemies attack the fake images they will disappear when hit.

Nice video Count Monte like the new spells and the quest itself. I'm pretty sure you took my idea I mention ago and made it a quest did you?

Like that gonna stop Monte from having these inspirations like there is a mystical sword imbued with all the four elements of nature but only to obtain this rare and powerful sword you must collect 4 parts of the weapon by defeating four elemental dragons with enormous power. The quest will be very dangerous but the reward will be stuff from legends.

this one

Well we having something similar.  We've been trying to pay homage to the classic D&D modules, and there was a Greyhawk one about these 5 magic swords called the Swords of Corusk that had been lost and scattered.
We have 5 magic swords hidden throughout the game - Flame, Ice, Lightning, Wind and Holy blades.  There's a certain NPC who is looking to reunite all the Swords of Corusk, and if you give him all 5 blades, you'll get something even cooler in return.
(but you don't know what you'll get, you have to trust the NPC and that means giving away your trusty flame sword you've been using for 3/4 of the game)
Finding the 5 blades won't be easy though.  Some of them will require having the Displacer Beast Eye (which lets you see and enter secret rooms), as well as other tricks and puzzles you must solve.

What is the awesome reward you get if you find and give the NPC the 5 swords?  I won't spoil it but I'll give a clue - it's name was first mentioned in Lewis Caroll's 1871 poem "Jabberwocky" before D&D and other fantasy games borrowed the name to describe a weapon of great power.

We have 2 more contestants joining Hippodrome contest:

Oni

Muramasa

Same base (Muramasa from Knights of the Round) but totally different AI. Oni fights in Master rank while Muramasa in Amateur rank

I also have recorded video for new features in this game. Will upload it tomorrow :)

Very cool.  You can do these arenas all the time to make gold? or can you only complete it once?

The stage's sky is dark (like a cloudy sunset) but the arena is very bright.  Could maybe add some burning torches nearby the pillars to give a light source, or just make it slightly darker.

You can do the arena anytime.  The enemies are randomized and there are 3 difficulty levels.
We are going to implement a special battle against the Death Dealer, once you beat all 3 difficulty levels you have to fight him (and if you beat him you get his helmet which has a special power you can use on quests).  After you beat him, the arenas return to normal and you can keep coming back as often as you want, even after you beat the whole game (main quest).

Oh the floor, I resized it to make it wider. Fighting in wide area is better than in narrow one. Do you have better floor suggestions?

Anyways, about that video I mentioned before, here's the first one:

Flying Carpet

http://youtu.be/13kEGgiG8rg

This carpet doesn't help player in dungeons nor field but rather in world map mode. As you can see in video, multiple random encounters are activated but none of them are triggered while travelling with flying carpet
Flying carpet also allows player to fly over lakes and seas which is not possible by walking

So where do we get one of this carpet? the 2nd video will show where

Pierwolf's New Shop

http://youtu.be/xtG0mQVE0X0

BTW we named this guy Pierwolf as a tribute to Pierwolf :D
Previously his shop only buys rare items and monster drops with higher price than regular shop.
Now we've added another option to trade certain monster drops with an item in his shop

Currently he has 4 special items to be traded. Glass Sword and Flying carpet can only be 'bought' from his shop while Vitality Potion and Rune of Mana can also be found in certain dungeons

Nice carpet ride!
So... You can't move the regular cursor over mountains or water? that's great idea. I was going to suggest you make the carpet a temporary item (ex. works for 10 seconds and only once every time you access the world map), but I suppose it would be a problem if timer expires when player is over an ocean...

Ohhhh! you can buy a My Little Pony! :D

Getting the carpet and glass sword won't be easy -- you saw that you have to trade certain items to get those, but obtaining the items is difficult enough... that's the part you don't see in the video:)
For example - to get troll fat, you have to kill a troll using a fire based attack.  Only by using flames (fire sword, fire spell, burning oil etc) to deal the death blow will get it to drop troll fat.

To get a wyvern scale, you need to kill the wyvern using poison.  You can buy poison bombs from a gnome vendor in one of the cities.

As for where to find these creatures to kill, some can be found in the quests, and others in random encounters but it'll be a challenge just finding enough of them to kill (using the special attacks) to get the items to then trade.
Also, you might prefer to sell the scales/fat etc instead of trade them - let's say you need gold to buy a new spell, or upgrade your armor at the blacksmith, or hire mercenaries at the tavern, or pay a dragon trainer to hatch a baby dragon for you, or hire a ship captain to help search for treasure on a map you found.
Carpet_zps12e468fc.png~320x480

The magic carpet is basically a convenience -- you might get tired of running into random encounters as you travel around the world, and the carpet basically lets you avoid them if you wish.  Also, there will be sidequest areas on the map you can only reach if you have the carpet.

This game is so HUGE!!! EPIC!!!

I hope you'll release a manual with the game :)
I suspect a lot of info will be available as you talk to townspeople... but a lot of it will be "missed" by some players. I say, let's make a Wiki with all we can find!
