Canceled Dungeons & Dragons UPDATE

Project is halted prior to completion and will not receive further updates.
Only your armor gets automatically upgraded.  You keep all the weapons you find and can switch to them anytime.  For example if you have the Flame Sword and want to switch to the Frost Sword to kill a fire giant, no problem.  Or if you want to use a magic crossbow etc.

Yes, the backstab will do plenty damage, in the video he made an orc enemy with an insane amount of health for testing purposes.
 
What happens if you have no more slots? Does it overwrite the oldest item/ newest item? Or does it ignore the collected item?

There are 30 slots and good news is we don't have more than 30 key items in our game :D. So it should be okay
(I have to think of something if it were)

Is that something complex to add in a game system?
I might need something simillar.
For players - auto back slam
For enemies - grab player in "double nelson"

If you're referring to air backstab, it's similar to Bao's Air Pressure in Crime Buster v2.5
For ground backstab, I have function which detect's if there's enemy giving his/her back at Shannon when she attacks. She'll perform backstab if there's one close enough

I suppose the backstab will do more damage than shown on the video ?

Yes of course :). The test orc has 1000 health for testing purposes. Regular orcs has less HP than that and Shannon can kill them with backstab ;)

will enemies have special rare items to drop a-la, say, Castlevania SotN or other RPG's which certain enemies have special or rare or secret drops?

I'm not fond of rare item drop system so I never bother implementing it
 
How will be the  "extra life" system of this game?
You will obtain more lives with elixirs, points, or a default number of li es with continues?

...the locations themselves are randomized...(if it's the case, sorry for spoiling!)

I am all for randomizing, adds variety. ( For example, putting smart bombs in established spots makes them useless, I look at Super Castlevania's cross)

A newly added feature
Castle Defense:

Player must defend the castle from the Siege Tower. Siege Tower doesn't attack but it is protected by band of orcs + some extra troops (well it does hurt when the tower hit you though).

The target is the tower which must be destroyed to stop the siege. It won't be easy since the orcs have Ogres in their ranks

Players will be rewarded with some gold if they manage to destroy the tower before it reaches castle gate

About Kongou (from Warzard) what about giving him a palette swap.
This way it will be better to mix him with other characters.

PS : I have not yet tried your codes.
I always need time to focus when working with script and all.
It require more time for someone like me  ???

Arena options

The rules mentioned at beginning of dialogues are great, at first but not when you have to read it over n over everytime you want to enter the arena so I decided to move it to its own option
What about spectate? it's newly added feature, as name implies player won't fight but instead a random NPC will fight random enemy in arena

Players are completely excluded from the fight so neither NPC nor enemy will attack them :)
Since arena is wider than screen resolution I made script to move camera left and right allowing players to watch both fighters anywhere in arena
What if any of them goes offscreen? worry not, I also implemented some field to push both fighters inside arena so nobody will be fighting offscreen ;)
When one is defeated the fight will end and player will be taken to lobby. If player can't wait until one is defeated, player can press attack button while watching to end spectate mode

I've plans for more NPC fighters and I'll be adding them soon :)
 
its all good blood ill send yous tuff too when im done with it so you can work on it when you are not busy.  Just let me know what is wrong with wolvie so i can fix it.

Breaking away from the mold, I love this game!

Probably much harder to code, but... Have you considered turning spectate into a "gamble" mode? Player can bet on a fighter and watch him battle... if his champion wins, then they get money, otherwise they loose the money. :P
 
erf, I love that idea.  I was thinking of suggesting it myself:)
We have a wagering system in the jousting already, so coding it should be doable, but that's Bloodbane's department.

In all honestly, how close do you think you might be to release?, as in, expect it to be near the end of the year? I am not asking a 'march 5 3 pm' kind of date, just a 'closer to mid year or the end' kind of estimate, also, aren't you worried about feature creep? (I mean, starting to a dd more nad more cool features or things you think might be cool, rather than release, and perhaps building a version with the new things later, even if it meant the saves might be invalid between copies.) Mostly worried that you guys might end up burned out of workign on the game due to it before getting a release out XD.

That makes me laugh :) Soon it will be two years that Count and BB "are fairly close to being finished" this incredible mod. So many RPG Elements it makes me think it will be like a kind of "Princess Crown" (Saturn game), but in english. I really would like to play it. Ok we'll wait the time needed, but Count & BB, can you, for the 2 years birthday, could give us something ? Like a website with the world, the story, the differents classes, the inventory system, the legends about rare items... To help us be ready enjoying the release ;D
