I really love this game. It's difficult when you have only one life and you have to have strategy for fighting against any boss. Marstorius has never been my favorite char in FH, but in his mod, he is, because of the slams and he's so fun to play. I was only lucky to use Marstorius for the dock stage to fight against Gozu, and Pierre (or Pielle, isn't it?) for the ship to rapidly punch and do supers to fight against Rila, which was really fun.

Yeah same here.
I wish Condor was playable.

I thought of making a VS mode which the rest of the FH characters (including a few grunts) plus the bosses and mid-bosses can be playable in it.

Yeah. I don't think he got the time to edit characters with weapons and it's a lot of work to do. It's like a spriter (or sprite editor) has to completely make a full character for Mugen. Not all modders are sprite editors though. I don't remember if he did edit sprites or not.

EDIT:

I forgot to show these screenshots for feedback. The obstacle was placed at over 480 in x coords and I couldn't proceed on until I smashed it which shows the grapes.

Clown gets stuck to the crate after he spawned from outside of the screen. I can see it's meant for smashing crates before they appear.

EDIT 2:

My bad. It's not just one clown that's stick. There's another one that gets stuck as well but in a different x coord on the same side.

wow thanks everybody for the feedback! i will look at them and see what i can do to improve the game.

As for the playable/not playable chars, obviously i can't satisfy everybody, but this was the very first mod i've ever created, and apart from the engine upgrades and better ripped sprites, the story and the playable chars were already decided long time ago, and i've decided to stay that way, in a rush of nostalgia for the past years.

but, guess what? you too, like me, can add chars and create your own game! if something doesn't satisfy you, you can use this as a base to make the beat-em up of your dreams, just like i've started many years ago! you wish condor, feilin and that other detesting little underage girls playable? you can do it too! enough being lazy, just try it guys; in a little time, you will find that it's fun and satysfing make your own games. and that's the BEST thing about Openbor! never give up!  ;D ;D ;D
 
Yeah Pierwolf, that's what I'm doing. I'm modding this to change the roster a lot.

* Dummied out all players except Ray, Mizo, and Yummy.
* Converted the mid-bosses to common enemy versions.
* Added more music.
* Designated each mid-boss as a "Boss 1"
* Added a few mini-bosses.

Future revisions:

* More enemies. Lee, and Jean will be reduced to enemies, plus new ones from Alien Challenge.
* Adding playable Feilin and Ryoko.
* Ox and Chelnov will appear.
* Karnov and Clown also appear as bosses rather than only as normal grunts.
* Unused FH1 "Joker" as final boss.

UPDATES:

- The endings now properly overlay char's lifebar.
- fixed Leonhalt turning and walking animation.
- fixed time over in training stage, now it doesn't happen anymore.
- fixed obstacles in stage 04-1 and stage 07, now they shouldn't block enemies anymore.

The best aspect of the game to me.

IMO, 98% of oldschool fighting game characters are kind of ugly, but they are still all interesting to play.
I don't select a character for his appearance, I'm not into cute stuffs, but it's interesting to have a variety of characters to play. Including big ugly guys including women...

No problem,

Almost all portraits in BDIAL1 BDIAL2... directories have color loss.

I know AODK have a particular way to handle color palettes, there is a lot of colors, so, compression can do color loss.

The other ingame color problems was false. I double checked, it's more some kind of weird palettes with some kind greenish skin or flashy weird colors.
I presume, some of them comes from Mugen characters. Not always the best palettes.
 
So I finished it, thanks a lot Pierwolf another awesome game!  8)

Some of the supers are so satisfying to pull off and I love the large cast is great, so many playable characters.
Sheen, Joe, Goh and Mizoguchi are my favorites, especially Sheen. (Nice to see AODK get some love, it really deserved a good single player game.)  I really liked that you used some of the Kaizer Knuckle characters, nice to see them get some love too.  Some really nice gameplay too, one of the best Obor mods. Presentation is great too.

Suggestions:
A ground attack for some of the characters?  It looks like they the animations?
Maybe some more obstacles or pits?  WHSJ has a lot of nice traps and obstacles.
Would have liked to have one Kaizer Knuckle character playable but I understand, modding is really hard work.

Yeah all though not a bad boss at I think General from Kaizer Knuckle would have been better, he's in the final version of Kaizer Knuckle that was sadly never released.

There is also Gonzales a Russian Davy crocket?  And Azteca a Aztec Warrrior.
It's like the Kaiser Knuckle version of, Dictator, Boxer and claw.

the file is not corrupted, you need 7zip to uninstall it...

I won't be too harsh about the game itself enemies and all, because it's an early project of yours.
But I still wish for other update in a future version. Like your final fight gold series versions...

BTW are you working on some other "secret" project, now? ::)

yea i know it's a bit "simpicistic" as a concept, but i've released only because it was already 75% completed a long time ago, i've just added recently some scripts and updated something here and there...

i've a lot of things accumulated, at least other 2-3 projects ongoing, but who know when they'll see the light of the day, due to the very limited free time i have...  :(
 
Yes, limited free time is the major problem for me too.
An the lack of coding skills.
