Manual grab instead of automatic

Can some one script me a way to move the grab feature to an attack button so the only way to grab someone or something is to get within range and press the grab button as if all entities were like items. instead of automatically grabbing someone when the player gets within range
 
Instant throws are cake, but setting the normal grapple status not so much. Without scripting your own grappling system from the ground up, there is really no easy way to do this. OpenBOR's basic grab status is a complex mix of several flags, and as dumb as it sounds none of us have yet figured out the right combination to initiate it.

thanks for the input. I was thinking it can be configured the same way as picking up weapons. or just creating an item that could react like enemies. considering items have to be picked up (grabbed manually). if you know what i mean. I will look into this instant throw. i hope its in the manual
