Canceled MegaSonic (remoded)

Originally created by CyberSoul X, I've been remaking this mod off and on, and finally decided some time ago to stick to it till I get a demo finished, and here it is. Megaman characters(except Duo) fight by shooting, and the 3rd shot is stronger and going through enemies, with a sliding/dashing free special. Sonic characters fight normally, can grab enemies, and their free specials are projectiles.
Free specials are done by pressing the attack 2 button(set in options menu), and everyone can dodge the usual way(up or down twice for those who don't know).

It's also being uploaded to the download section here.

Screenshots(these are old BTW, but I don't have any recent ones):

Too bad they are old shots so I can't see any new progress.

So what have you updated from original mod?

Well, the attack and BBoxes are fixed, all projectiles are actually projectiles rather then being in the characters frame, offsets fixed, pretty much everything that was wrong with the game when it came to the gameplay.

Also, those shots aren't that old, and the only thing your missing from them are the new stages I used to replace the old ones that seems to be missing color due to how GIFs work. The demo isn't that long either, just the first 3 stages, and I tried to make it a bit harder.

played it, but theres something about the original version and this one which i dont like, feels like it should be a 2d platformer beacuse the combat doesnt work in beat em up style.
Well this mod was very projectile heavy, plus, most of Megaman's gameplay was based on that anyway. With the Megaman characters, it's best to pick your spots for shooting(and I will add different enemies and stuff), and with sonic chars, pretty much the same but more movement.

also sonics run is not very fast- consideriing he is known for his speed.
True, but this is a beat'em up game, so he's lucky I made him as fast as he is now. Also, if I made him too fast, he's be able to attack most enemies before they had a chance to do anything, so I didn't want him too overpowered.

all chars grab enemies too far away and hold the air.
I'll try to remember that next time I work on this.

there should be lots of breakable environments etc, level seems very empty and repetitive.
Most of the work in this demo went into improving characters and enemies, not to mention I stopped for a long time at one point because the game wouldn't start. Come to find out, one of the enemy txt files just went nuts with geberish, and i actually had to see who was the last character loaded before the game crashed, the log file didn't explain the problem.
Anyway, as far as breakable environments, I wouldn't know what to add, maybe some boulders or something, but that's never been something I thought too much on.

The idea is cool, but I think the graphic style clashes a bit.

ah, and look on the lower part of the screen on this image:

the grass repeats itself on a duplicated pattern way, a very common error on BOR mods.

Yes! The game is fun and I like the mix of these 2 games!

Only graphic problems IMO.
Perhaps some BG can be better (ther rock on the last screenshot seems alittle blury - color loss)
Also Roll has been scaled for this game. and the result is not beautiful.
Some of her pain anim have not been scaled.
You should try "rotsprite" so you can handle all the changes and edit directly the small errors.

Anyway thanks for updating it. ;D
I would love to work as fast as all of you... ::)

I've had this complaint with Sega Brawlers, but style clashing has never really been a concern of mine if anything(not to mention sprite movies did it a lot and they were still cool), I care more about making the game then restricting myself just to make the game look neat, besides, the mod was created by someone else who apparently wanted to make a Sonic and Megaman crossover, I'm just remaking it.

I didn't even notice that, I'll keep that noted.

Couldn't really think of anything to replace that with. I may have to look into another mod.

It's never going to be beautiful, trust me, when I was first using this command, I was asking up and down if there was a way to make this better. In the end, I just learned to deal with it.

Damn it.....

I have that on my old PC, but forgot all about it. Maybe it could work, but it still wont be perfect.

Anyway thanks for updating it. ;D

You're welcome, and if I worked fast, this demo would've been uploaded a long time ago. Having an 8 hour job is not fun at all.  :'(

Also, thanks for all your comments guys.
