OpenBor Challenge

What do you guys think about some community participation? A series of games based on making games using the OpenBor Engine?

Main thing is we have fun.

So for example we have a set theme and a set amount of time to make it, assets will be provided and you make what ever you want in the allocated time, you guys wanna try it out?

@danno,

I'm in the same spot as @O Ilusionista. I love the idea but I'm kind of knee deep already. I hope everyone else doesn't say the same thing. @Bloodbane does these sorts of things elsewhere, maybe he can join in and rally a few people.

Yeah I get it, we're all deep into our own projects, in a way this'll help with burn out for those already working hard, I'm not even talking a good level of presentation (which is hard for a perfectionist such as myself) literally you have 2 days to make a game and the theme is fireballs type stuff.

In some ways the less professional the more fun it would be. Obviously the timing has to be set right, like the last weekend of August for the first one because I know as adults we have to set time aside for fun now.

Sadly, I can't because school and other things, sounds like a pretty fun idea too, I also started from scratch to learn OpenBOR scripts lol, there's a lot of differencies between 3.0 and 4.0 X_X

I'd love to see it!
Can't compete due to time constraints.
Great idea though, something like this would be great for the new guys like myself.
Games focusing on one part of Openbor. Say for instance "Slamfest" that focus on slams or "Scripted" a mini game that cover the basics of custom scripts.
Good luck.

Sounds like gamejam with OpenBoR engine as the only allowed engine.
Sounds interesting but I'd need to see the theme and assets first.
