I thought you where ripping the sprites with MAME....

the complete sprite sheet for pinoccio should be there once you load the level -  i think it involves hitting f-something & cycling with it until you find them

as for separating sprites from the background from actual screen-grabs - i use Gimp, save the images as png 24 bit from the video or frames, then edit with the lasso tool (rember to activate the alpha channel) - remember to turn off the tool's antialiasing.

When i had photoshop, i would use the paths tool & duplicate paths with bits of adjustments for each frame.

Now here another thing you can do. the background during the pinoccio fight is always the same, & i remember that there was this background extraction tool in GIMP & later copied by photoshop. using this tool & Photoshop's action record , you can apply this tool to mulitple layers or screen grab series to automatically erase the background.

as far as i know, if you feed the background to the tool , it will almost automatically remove anything that does not resemeble the background or vice-versa.

in this case you have to figure out how to make it work in "reverse" to extract the pinoccios or generate masks for his extraction
 
I’m still editing Pinocchio of NightSlashers.  I like the fact when I lose a life, he’s starts laughing like a maniac.
Also I have a request. If someone could capture:

• the box he arrives in
••when the box opens
•••when his pieces come together to create him
 
I managed to rip the tile set, but i don't know how to assemble them.

Igor is in front of the box so parts of the box can't be ripped correctly from in game footage

Really appreciate it.  I’ll check it out and search for that specific Pinocchio frame of animation.

it seems that there is  cheats that allow you to rip the sprites a bit better, it seems that you can adjust positions of some sprites with the cheats, so you might be able to move igor out of the way
 
Do you happen to have Kurokishi's sprites?

I could work on Jupiter's 'carrying the enemy' animation. I could also possibly work on Rosa's 'holding the column animation'. Unfortunately spriter's resource is incomplete.

I don't wanna disrespect the decision, firstly it is your game, secondly, you're doing all of this out of the kindness of your heart, for no profit, and developing it in your free time, which you could be spending in something else entirely. So what i am getting at, is, i hope this isn't taken the wrong way n.n,, 'cause it's meant just as a suggestion (and having played the earlier build, you just know it's gonna kick butt regardless :D )
But, if at any point in time you decide to add chibiusa, after all your main, personal priorities in the game are accomplished already, maybe as a bonus or extra character or something, i wanted to point to some reference which might be useful:

I add this mainly for 2 reasons, firstly the sprite works on these are original, and done in an SNK style, so it may fit the Sailor Moon Arcade / IREM look a bit more than other sources. 2nd, there is an application called "Fighter Factory", you can literally just open up the character file with it and go through any and all animation frames, modify them, save them, the whole works.
There's these other 2, maybe not so useful resources, but just in case:
This is not bad, but the main problem is, it is chibiusa, not sailor chibimoon...it may be a pain to modify the sprites into sailor chibimoon but i figured i'd post it either way. Here’s the Data from Night SlasherX.  You’ll find Kurokishi’s sprites.

As for Rosa,  i can find sometime to rip her holding the column.

As for the Sailor Soldiers,  I would like to have in the future an idle and walk animation in their civilian clothes for a Castlevania 2 town element.  However, that’s way in the future.  I’m still working on the amusement park.

An sprite of Esmeralda would be the biggest dream.

Jinrei has always been one of my favorite characters from the Banpresto series of Guardians.    I like the fact that’s he’s playable mainly for me.  He’s the option if a 2nd player doesn’t want to play as a Sailor Soldier.
Also, he reminds me of Naruto and the ninja from the Cannon films of the 80’s.  Ninjas will always have a spot on my game.

As for the other Soldiers,  there’s a custom Pluto and Neptune.  That’s in the future. 

Chibimoon;  if she is sprited one day in Banpresto style, you can bet she will be playable.

For sprite styles, I mainly use the following
•Oni Ninja (Banpresto)
•Guardians (Banpresto)
•Night Slashers (Data East)

I have all of the voices ripped from PSX Sailormoon.

Everything takes time. 

As of right now, Sailor Jupiter has been ripped.
She will be the next Sailor to appear along with the evil Pinocchio.

If possible a separate sprite rip with and without the column. I believe she also has the same animation for carrying the metallic column bars too.

Also if you don't mind I'd like to get a few animation for Numan Athletics 1 (Sharon) and 2 (Sharon (again), Makoto and Sophia) for the girls.

Yup.  We have a few hidden surprises of color edits:

🍥 Naruto
🍥 Kakashi
And a few more that Bloodbane helped separate the colors from the original character.

He recently did another edit and it looks amazing.
