Street Fighter 6

I
Yes, I saw that yesterday before going to sleep.
I kind of like.
But she kind of look like she have been done with the creation mode or something.
The other characters have a better definition to me.
And yes the costume is a bit adapted, I cannot really explain.
My only wish is her her to be as complete and inspired as SF6 Terry is.
Not something too simple / too vanilla etc...
I'll wait for first actual gameplay.
Hi Ned, hope you well? I love what they did with Terry to the point where I want to make a version of him based of what we know from the old games but implement some of the things CAP added to him for my beat em up.
His combo potential is insane in STF6

They can do what they want with Mai!
I never bothered with her really but aside from the bland look I think they will do her justice.
STF6 is what I wanted from STF5...STF4 still my favourite.

Mai gameplay - even though the guys at CapCom have used her actual moves (like with Terry), her footwork is rendered surprisingly even better.

"Dis-co-Ibi-za-Lo-co-mí-a" 😜

Combos on point as it should be but she look no where near as seductive as she could have been.
It's like they ignored parts of her that made her so "Appealing".
Just my take.
I'd to see the below take place to stir things up, wishful thinking on my part.

Capcom make the next KOF.
Namco the next STF.
Snk can just sit there and watch.
If it aint pixels art I aint bothered.

I really feel so so about this Mai...
Gameplay wise, they tried to add some moves from some SNK games, but she doesn't feel as "polished" as Terry is.
Terry's gameplay gave me this feeling of "wow, they even gave him this move" many times in the trailer.
Mai trailer seems to show the "same moves" again and again... I felt very disapointed at the end. Even her critical art is not that satisfying...

In term of design. Like the fact they gave her her Realbout type face/haircut. Pretty ok with that.
Ok, boobs, blah blah... But what about her "shape", I absolutely hate her lower body...
He hips area looks very "short" vertically, looks like something made with the avatar creation tool... seriously...
The legs lack of definition making her looks rushed. Just compare her with Cammy and Chun-Li...
I will be direct but such work doesn't makes me want to see any other new characters in this game.

To me, Capcom's try of Mai with CVS1/CVS2 was great. But here, almost everything looks off.
Results in short:
-Gameplay : Nice ! May be insteresting, but so frustrating compared to Terry's masterpiece.
-Design : Top 1 of the less appealing Mai appearance in a game. (beside of crappy mobile games etc.)

Just seconding this. I'm withholding my opinion on the SF6 Mai, though I did really like the flow of things. Artistically though, the clean, high contrast style of art in CVS was made for Mai. IMO that is by FAR the best interpretation of her, with Real Bout coming second. KOF is just too banded, too grainy, and too over the top juvenile with her design.

I spoke on more detail about KOF art here:

I went over what you said a few years back and one of your reasons for not liking Kof's art style is exactly why I like it. The whole grainy look ever since I played '94. I got no issue with the sprites in Garou and one of my favorite games, The last blade, a fighting game with a decent story unlike most.
CVS is where it's at regarding sprites and the main reason why I dropped the MVC sprites which is my favorite but I like how the animation flow into each other in CVS a game that eluded me back in the day.
CvS Mai is on point as you said.
I must admit I love SVC chaos - seeing the STF2 cast in kof art style especially.

I like what they did with her regarding the buff.
So I got to working on my take on my, she and Terry capture the feel I was going for.
Drop a video later in the week.

Mai maybe rough around the edges but it's a start.

One thing I'm not a fan of about STF6 is the flow of combat, once you go into the second round with a win and have 3 bars then the match is more or less tilted in your favor.

What I liked about STF4 was the revenge meter to assist players in making a comback.
I enjoyed performing those single frame combo links aswell but don't miss em, STF6 is way more accessible with them modern controls.
Graphics are great and the combos are fun.

EDIT: Did somebody forget to post about Elena featured in SF6, as well as its launch and system updates? What a shame that nobody did it now that we got Bison, Terry, and Mai in. 🤦‍♂️ They are quite well known since their own second installments/inceptions (Street Fighter and Fatal Fury respectively; with Bison and Mai specifically; except Terry who appeared in the first and was made to be the main guy for the first SF game). IMO I guess about Elena for Street Fighter fans, quite well known, but for those outside with majority, maybe not? (I had always thought that Ingrid was part of the Street Fighter series since her debut in SFA3 Max.)

Sagat actually got some decent Muay Thai attacks this time around along with the spam fest of a fireball.
I always felt like he was limited when compared to other characters who share the same fighting style in other games at the time.
I was Intially going to base my take on him off Bruce and Fakuram from Tekken, still going to, with him being the emperor of Muay Thai.
But I might use what I see here as a base.
Best thing about SF6 is that it makes the franchise still relevant.

Yeah, Sagat got some decent moves. I always missed elbow strikes on his kit.
Then it look like they got you covered.
I'll be sure to add that to his kit for my mod aswell.

This off topic but sticking with SF.
I was looking for a variant of Zangief with pants and the Red Cyclone showed up and I was like that's the one I can work with.
I like his ground and pound attacks etc.

I hope you okay with me perhaps using him in my mod. I have the mech variant as an enemy.
That SF spec ops is something else though.
Your work be like a gift that keep on giving.
Especially FF3.
Thanks again Capt. 100k
