Streets of Rage 2X

In Progress Streets of Rage 2X By Kratus 2.3.1

No permission to download
The project is currently under development.
This game could be cut down to work on the wii but it would be a huge project, you would have to review everything in the game with optimizations in mind. I did it for rescue palooza and war of the gems but it was more work then i ever expected.
Wooow, nice job on that two. It would be really great to play this Streets of Rage 2X on the Wii because the game Kratus is making is amazing.

Does anyone know how to get an Xbox One controller to work with this? I've tried but I can only get the keyboard to work with. Thanks in advance.

All my tests during the development were made using the Xbox/Ps4 controller, it works fine with no additional tricks. Go to the controller options and map buttons according to every action.

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried doing that, but no matter what I do the game doesn't seem to recognise the controller at all. I've tried toggling controllers on/off and back again, I've tried running the game as an administrator, tried compatibility settings, and checked for controller driver updates (drivers are all up-to-date), as well as your suggestion.

I'm at a loss.

@ShivSJ

what system are you using win 11? 10?

the xbox controler using the wire that is like a android charge cable?

1st test the controller with another game
2nd test it with an n64 snes or genesis emulator

if 1 & 2 work and openbor does not:
lets rule out that SORX2 is the problem:
test with another module that uses or using an older openbor engine

3 make sure the Xbone controller is not enumerated as controller 5 or beyond.

last resort
from experience with windows 10, usb ports get corrupted big time, uninstall all usb and usb root hubs devices, uninstall the xbox conroller and re-start the system

Are you using the same engine version that came with the SOR2X (7123)? In case you changed that, there's no guarantee that the game will work properly.

Yep, did as you suggested and uninstalled then reinstalled the controller, and restarted the PC and now it works fine.

Thanks for your help!

Here is a test about Bongo in the background. His transparency is 55% and his size is 75%.

I can almost hear that fatboi laugh

Hi to everyone, I already finish this game 3 times, and it's great :D (I'm playing on OpenBOR Plus a PS3 emulator), but is there a guide or a map of the city?
I want to know all the routes.

I'm preparing a road map for you.

Edit: Sorry for the draft, according to what I remember this quick example shows all the possible route changes in the SOR2X.

Yeah, if I'm not wrong I saw it in a Mugen game. It makes the hitflash animation more smooth than changing sprites.
ah, in Mugen 1.1 this is even smoother: you give the engine a starting scale and a staring angle (even alpha too) and a ending value for all.
the engine automatically will interpolate between the values if you tell it to do so, its amazing

I too am using a dualshock 4 wireless controller, but I have to keep using ds4windows if I try to not use ds4windows and pair up the controller with my pcs Bluetooth it does not work, are you using a Bluetooth dongle if so which one ?

I'm using ryochan's ds4Windows too for ps4 controllers. About the additional tricks, I meant that I'm using the native Xinput driver in Windows, which works without workarounds for Xbox or ps4+ds4 controllers (since ds4Windows simulates Xinput too).

Thanks, I am on my second play through right now, hopefully I will unlock rebellion, and I will be able to make the cpu partner any player in the game, thanks again for this awesome version !

Hi @Kratus the android version seems to not work on the newer phones as they are moving to an arm v8 and discontinued the arm v7 would it be possible if you can update the package / code to support?

Ty. Love the project.

Thanks for the feedback :)
I will check if it's possible to fix it, luckily the build 7123 used by the SOR2X have many similarities with the 7612 used by the SORX.
