Nice work! Rat King should be a tad bigger, since he is quite strong.
Also, I think you should use another picture for the main screen. It has too much color loss.

Yes, you're quite right, O Ilusionista. I made Rat King a little bigger and added Leonardo just to have a height reference. I also just added two more characters (PizzaFace and LeatherHead). I wast thinking that perhaps PizzaFace could be the boss on that "Ninja Pizzeria" stage from the video I uploaded. About LeatherHead, I didn't wanna use the one from TMNT3 NES since I just don't like it that much. This version is closer to the one on the show and also to the Turtles in Time version.

@Beastie: Thanks a lot, man!!

@Bloodbane: Thanks, a lot. As soon as I have something to show, I will. Oh, I haven't used the script you gave me yet (my bad). I can't wait to try it but I'm also working on so many other things.

You got nice designs there, dude. I can tell you really love the 8bit style of TMNT because of old school. Hah. You do what you love and that's so awesome we like what you love to work. :)

Gabo, just finished your old demo and I feel I should report some things.
1st. On some levels the 8 bit music is very low quality, you should take a look at that.

2nd. Why do 90% of foot solider have projectiles ?
In the nes game they use swords, spears, etc.

3d. I think Dony should have a wee bit more range with his bo staff.

Other than that the game is awesome, keep at it.

@maxman: Thanks a lot, dude!! I do love the 8-bit style and I love the fact that 8-bit style sprites are easy to edit and also faster which will allow me to add more enemies/characters to the game. Seriously, now more than ever i LOVE OpenBOR!!

@PeXXeR: Thanks a lot for your feedback! I don't know how old the demo you tried is but I have already replaced ALL the music with ".ogg" files, it sounds better now. As for the Foot Soldiers, that should be easy to fix. And about Donatello, I guess you're right, his attack boxes were based on the NES sprites but I can always edit the sprites an make the Bo a little longer. Thanks again!

@ PeXXer: My pleasure! I suppose I should update the demo in my signature but there are a few things that I wanna do first. I'm not quite ready yet.

In the meantime, there is this new level that I've been working on. It's a junkyard based on that "Enter The Fly" episode from the show. I wanna thank oldmanwinters for providing that list of episodes that I wanted to use as a reference. In this level there is also a new Boss (Mutagen-Man). I wanted to work on him because I felt that he was visually interesting since he has this jar-like torso with his internal organs exposed and stuff. So, I thought it would be cool to see him in motion since you can see part of the background through him. Oh, about the background music, it's an 8-bit style version of Donatello's stage from SNES Tournament Fighters that I found on YouTube. I thought it was a good fit. Here's the link:

My pleasure!  The game is looking great with all the new locations and boss characters.  Mutagen Man is a fun addition.  Have you thought about giving him a retro-mutagen gun that could undo the turtles' mutations like in the final fight with Shredder?  Maybe it shouldn't take away an entire life, but just a hefty chunk of health before they return to normal.

Thanks oldmanwinters!!! Yeah, I thought about that. That "laser" is a temporary weapon. I just really wanted to upload the video and show it to somebody but, there is, as always, room for improvement!

One thing to think about on your custom junkyard stage might be to see if you can bring a little balance to the stage color palette.  I think the distant background layer looks great, but the foreground with the four brightly colored cars stacked on each other just seems distractingly bright for a junkyard.  Maybe if you give the stacked cars closest to the viewer a more bland color scheme (navy blue, grays and browns) it might mesh a little bit better into the overall atmosphere.  Remember, it's a junkyard, not a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party! (cool as that might be)

@iggy11: Wow! Thanks a lot! I only hope that I'm able to meet your expectations in the future.

@oldmanwinters: True that, man! That should be easy to fix, I just gotta recolor the cars in the background to make them less distracting. Once again, your feedback is appreciated.

hi again gabotico. the new sprites works for all those enemies are pretty good. ;)

look, this is one idea i tought days ago...

how could be rat king? well, on both tv series from 80s and 2003, rat king uses his rats army for attack the turtles.

could be interesting if you like, that him can use as attack a group of rats. that you can stop by attack they. or must avoid depending of the attack.

also, if you want, you can do these rats could take the form you wanted.
for example, imagine a giant sling shot, a hammer... or a giant hand trying to stomp you... you know, things like that. ;)

that is very typical on this kind of cartoon series and also in the konami games i think. and could result interesting.

rat king could attack you sending his rats on different attack patters, and then hide himself inside a place where you cannot enter.
and after the group of rats attacked you, he could get back for figth you again.

that could do the rat king battle more interesting and curious. but it will needs work and also imagination, for decide wich kind of attacks you could do the rats perform.

i know i saw this in other games, but now i cannot remenber where. :P

apart of this, also is clear that splinter should be one of their helpers.
and maybe when you beat him, he must join you as a cpu partner, or just stay in there on the ground, with his dizzy after the fight. and unable to fight more because you has beat him.

greetings master. ;)

EDIT:
------
hey!, talking about rats...

the mousers and baxter stockman flying machine, was never used as players neither.

if you wish to do something funny, you can add small playable enemies as they (or road kill rodney), etc.  even when they cannot have too many attacks due to have only some few moves limitation.

this is like on the awesome "streets of rage 2 syndicate wars hack".
where all the enemies are playable. even when some doents have many possible attacks. (galsia dont have jump and his only attacks are take a knife and run, and do punches).

however, is very funny can play with him. and also is a challege try to pass many enemies or stages with a very limited playable chars like those... ;)

greetings

RatKing will definitely use his rats to attack. I don't know about gathering the rats so that they can take different shapes and stuff, I just haven't started working on RatKing yet. He's probably gonna be on another sewer level (most likely). But I am working on something else right now...

Thanks bro, downloading right away, Happy Holidays to you too :))
Played it looking good, music is no more low hq, the new colors for the stages look better good job.
A suggestion/Nitpick: Why not add a run button, It will make gameplay way more smoother. :)
Awesome stuff.

Thanks a lot, PeXXeR!! Yeah, a run button sounds good but I'm not sure I know how to do it, then again, I haven't looked into it. I don't mind pressing left or right twice but a run button may improve the gameplay.
