@Kratus , think Blaze's power could do with upping. It was normal and stupid to have the one woman character to be low power in 1994 but doesn't make sense now. It's a bit of a slog to use her on mania.
Sorry friend, I understand your point but it would break all the planned mechanics, plus stepping away from the classics a bit.
Curiously, she's one of the few characters I can do easier speedruns with, mainly because her energy stars fill up quickly and sor4's special bar regenerates very fast. I suggest you try playing her more this way.

It was actually the speed that made me think it. I can remember all OG beat 'em ups had a speedy but powerless token women, if they were included. Dropping the paciness but upping the power would be a correction and decent middleground between Axel and Skate. I do like breaking with convention but fair enough if it's not workable or your cup of tea.

Dunno where my video went but I did still manage to smash everyone's head in.

Although I still consider making some minor changes and more polishing, SOR1 Blaze is finished. She was really a bit hard to develop due to not having too many sprites available, so I had to make a lot of edits myself.

I decided to leave the color separation for custom hair colors for the next update because the current beta 34 already has a good amount of updates.
In addition, I already replaced the old helicopter sprite with the amazing update made by @seahorses. However, I will leave the chaingun addition for the next update.
I forgot to fix the propeller didn't I. Oh well.. Sorry about that.

I end up not using her combo finisher and gave her Hienzan (Somersault Kick) instead inspired from Kim Kap Hwan because I don't like the OG finisher kicking the air when there's no enemy (enemy already died). Like it so much I gave her arc nemesis similar moves but more grounded. Blaze boots and wrist band still unedited. Still a long way to go. At least I've deciced all of her moveset.

Excuse the blurry gif

Great job!

Kratus updated Streets of Rage X (Windows / Android) with a new update entry:

Beta 34

### BETA 34 ###

- Engine: Experimental update to show better button names in the control config. menu.
- Game: Added SOR1 Blaze, revised SOR1 Onihime.
- Game: Added Sega CD voices as a new option for SOR1 characters.
- Game: Slam system update, if the damage is enough to kill the released opponent, now he will die as soon as the slam move finishes, instead of sometimes bouncing on the ground first.
- Game: Minor select screen updates.
- Game: Minor fix in the CPU partner hud when using "dot...

During the Chrono Crash closed tests the game was temporarily labeled with ccx, where "x" means how many closed tests were launched.
The label will be removed in the official release. This helps in identifying if someone is not using the final version.

PS: I forgot to mention in the changelog that now there's a classic resolution version, currently only available for Windows/Android.

Classic resolution looks great on mobile. Will test on Windows too. My download shows as CC1, does that mean I'm the first person to download the android classic version? Either way, great news additions! I like the new Sega CD voices, Axel uppercut yell tho 😄

Not exactly, this is a temporary label to identify all builds distributed during the Chrono Crash closed tests.

Thanks friend :)

@Kratus I have 1 tiny, small, miniscule suggestion for the classic resolution version and that is to slow the walk speeds down, the walk feels too fast which kind of affects attack positioning.

Yeah, it makes sense. I will take a look at it, but it seems like something related more to the screen scrolling speed than the character's speed.
Thanks for the feedback!

@Kratus had a quick go on the new update, enemies seem improved/less forgiving which is good. Blaze's combos much tighter now as well
Thanks buddy :) Amazing mix by the way.

I love your game. Great work.
Thank you, friend!

OK so I've had a chance to try her out. I've finished a run with her and had a few short/mid-way runs that ended in a frustration-quit ^_^".

I enjoy some aspects of her but she does feel a bit weak. I don't mean the amount of damage she deals so much as just how easy (or not) it is to be effective with her, chain moves together, etc. though I can't put my finger on why exactly. She's just kind of... difficult to work with? I actually play way better with Axel 1, which is hilarious because I am universally terrible with Axel in every SoR game to the point that my friend (who's an Axel main) always gives me shit about it xD. So for an SoR 1 Blaze main and Axel hater to PREFER SoR 1 Axel is very worrying for me xD.

I really don't like giving negative feedback and I hope you understand this comes from a place of love and respect, but here are some things I felt underwhelmed by:
- Her Offense Special. I understand it's a reference to her Back Attack in SoR 2, but it not only is visually very underwhelming (it doesn't FEEL like a Special move at all), but it also isn't very useful (except MAYBE to hit enemies coming up behind you) and I kind of just forgot/pretended it didn't exist.
- Her Star Move/Blitz: Again, I can sort of see the reference, the spinning fist being a nod to her SoR 2/3 combo, but like the Offense Special, it doesn't FEEL special and isn't very useful either. Another forgettable move for me, sadly :(. Perhaps if she slid further with it and her fist was engulfed in her blue energy, it would feel a bit flashier?
- Her Rage Attack is pretty much the same exact thing as her Run Attack, just stronger, and was easily the most disappointing part of her moveset. From another developer, I would've gone as far as to call it 'lazy', but I imagine there's probably a reasonable reason for it being this way.

I'm assuming most of these things are due to lack of sprites, which of course I don't blame you for if that's the case. It's just a shame she couldn't have felt a little more flashy and unique in those areas.
