Complete AVENGERS UNITED BATTLE FORCE DEMO 2

Project is completed.

Yeah I have Windows 10. I tried both Video Backend options but neither changed the white stuff. :(

I just noticed Bowman's dialogue sounds kinda quiet compared to the other characters/bosses. Even when I turned down the music, I couldn't hear it too well. Maybe my microphone was worse than I thought, lol

That is strange. I've checked the palette and its fine (look at the picture, the last color is black). Maybe it happens because there are some duplicate colors on the palette. I will change the last color to another value and send to you to test.

I will raise Bowman's voice volume, thanks.

* The puishment for failing an Avenger Power input is far too punishing. Why does it always drain life?
Its not a punishment made by the engine, its a player's fault. If you input the wrong command, since the movement uses the S button, you will ending executing the special move, which consumes life.
But, in other hand, you are invincible. So its not that punishment :)

..... and, BEST secret char ever made.
hahahaa thanks. I had so much fun making him! Doom made the base sprite and I made "the rest" ;)

I just loaded the game today and suddenly his palettes are normal :S I don't know if it will stay that way but here's hoping! lol

So its an engine bug. I will report it, thanks.

Try the "secret character" in Sky stage and you have a surprise :)

That's the best thing I've ever seen O_O lol

Will he be 'normal' in future releases or will he always be like he is now?

Hope you will enjoy your very well deserved break ^_^ Do you already have plans for what you'll be working on next or is it just going to be spontaneous?

I had to edit your post to cut the spoiler, sorry.
"He" will be always like he is now.

Hope you will enjoy your very well deserved break ^_^ Do you already have plans for what you'll be working on next or is it just going to be spontaneous?
I have to care about some important issues at my RL first. Then I will be finishing some of my commissions for Mugen (I have a lot of work to finish).
When I return, I plan to update PDC first, with more stages and characters. Then I can take a look on this game again.  I will be just fixing the bugs (serious only) people may find.

There are some almost finished content which I had to remove for this release, like playable Spider Woman. There are some work in Iron Fist, Black Knight and other characters.

I have plans for another mods, but I have no time for it since I have 2 games to finish first. But I would love to team up with another coder to work on a mod - working alone is too much work for me.

Haha, when I saw Spiderwoman in Hammer's stage I thought 'oo she would be fun to play!'. I had no idea she was planned to be :) That's cool.

Interesting to hear Iron Fist too. I always found it odd that he and Black Widow are shown when the game is launched but they're not in the  game like the rest are.

I remember PDC. It was surprisingly fun :) I'm glad that's continuing.

It's amazing you can do so many projects at once. I wouldn't even be able to do one, lol! I really wish I was able to do coding or even spirtework. There's all kinds of stuff I'd love to see made in OpenBOR that I know will never happen (because nobody else would want it, lol) unless I could do it myself. Alas it's just not something I can wrap my head around.

EDIT: LOL I just encountered a bug. Red Hulk's Avenger Power is so powerful it breaks the game if you use it on the 'destroy the crates' bonus stage. The game shut down immediately after using it there XD

Weird. I never manage to break all the crates at once using his move, but I fail to see why it would crash.
Try again and, if it happens, go to LOGS folder and send me your OpenBorLog.txt.

Here is my playthrough of the game bro:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOMbgfJ2t58

The game is extremely well done bro, liked all the little touches especially when you start up the game with the loading screen I had a smile on my face when I saw that!!  Hardly any mods that I could think of did anything with the loading screen!!!

Also the game isn't that very difficult as well until the later end lol, I destroyed Hammerhead with Wolverine lol!!!  Pure rush down lol!!

At around 57:00 mark on the video I was just waiting for the enemy because he was off screen and couldn't get to him so I had to use my hyper move as Ironman to get to him!!

And I noticed after the 2 or so level you weren't able to change characters anymore and I wanted to try out every character but couldn't lol!!

All in all pretty good for being a demo bro pretty much a full game with the length of the stages already lol!!!  Looking forward to seeing the next version bro ;)

Thanks for the gift man and have a safe and happy holidays and a new year!!! 8)

Thanks man! Glad you liked it.
And I noticed after the 2 or so level you weren't able to change characters anymore and I wanted to try out every character but couldn't lol!!

you are the second person to say it, maybe this is an engine bug. But I never had this issue neither many of my friends.
I will report this.

I've been playing the new demo for hours now and after the survey yesterday I decided to do some character reviews :) Obviously these are just my personal thoughts on the characters and I know I'm bad at the game and also very nitpicky so I'm not sure if they'll be helpful or not. I'm judging them on their moves, their overall feel, and if they feel playable in all stages and situations. This will probably be an insanely long post, lol, so I'm sorry for that! Also, I almost never rate anything 10/10 because I know I might find something I like more than that, so don't worry if most characters are scored less than that!

Captain America - 7.4/10
In the first demo, I thought Captain America was one of the best characters in terms of his gameplay and overall feel. I don't like him in the Marvel Universe, but he's so fun to play as that he was my second most chosen character! His moves chained together well and were satisfying to use, although I did feel like he didn't throw his shield far enough (for a guy with super strength). In the second demo, even with some of his new moves, he felt a little weaker somehow. I can't quite put my finger on why. I found that in later stages especially, he seemed a little harder to use efficiently. I would have probably given him 8 or 8.5/10 in the first demo. I don't think he's gotten worse, but I think the game's gotten better than him, if that makes sense. His Avenger Power is one of the best if you can line it up correctly and his ability to restore power faster really helps to use it more frequently if you miss.

Iron Man - 6/10
One of my favourite marvel characters! Iron Man in this game feels pretty good, yet also a little underwhelming at times. Even though he probably has the same number of moves as the other characters, he feels like he has less. Some of his moves are pretty fun to use though. The Repulsor Blast is a great projectile and I love his aerial dive attacks. I also noticed you can hold down the block button with him, which is great. I also really like his alternate fire in the MK1 armor. It adds replay value to the character. I like his Avenger Power a lot but I do find myself missing with it if my enemies aren't perfectly lined up at times. In short, I like him, but it feels like something's missing, I just don't know what it is though, lol.

Hawkeye - 7.4/10
Yep... he scored higher than Iron Man. I don't know how it happened either. In the first demo he was probably 3.5/10 at best, almost unplayable, like in First Alliance 2. But now, he's just excellent. Like Captain America, I don't like Hawkeye as a character, but his new update is so much fun to play that I'm actually picking him a lot more now and as I said in another post, he feels more than playable, he feels good! His grabbing moves especially have made him a much better character and I like how he can can run side to side now. It was a nice balance rather than making him unable to run at all. I still find it awkward to use his special arrows, but now he feels like he doesn't need to rely solely on them to play well because he has a lot of other options to attack with now. Seriously, amazing job. I never thought anybody could make him playable, but you've done it.

I definitely want a Hydra palette for him (and the other Avengers) though. I love that colour scheme so much! Green for the win!

Hulk - 7/10
Speaking of green...
I must confess, I do not play Hulk very often as I am not a fan of "slow powerhouse" characters in beat 'em ups, however I can say that Hulk is one of the most faithful recreations so far, from his voice to his moves. He is slow, but he doesn't feel hindered by it, which is good. I love how he can take a lot of hits without falling down and his high jumps really do just feel so much like watching the Avengers movies. His heavy sound effects are satisfying and make you feel like you really are in control of a monster. His moves are pretty fun to use and he has an overall good feel about him. I do kinda wish he could do the famous 'loki throw' as a grab special though.

Also, I have to ask, is the "leave Hulk alone!" line a reference to the "leave Britney alone!" meme? I've been wondering for a while but keep forgetting to ask. If it is, that's awesome. I love references like that.

Thor - 6.8/10
Thor is another character I don't like much in the Marvelverse and in the first demo he was another character who felt a little unplayable at times. His updates have definitely improved him and I have fun playing him, even though I don't pick him much. His new colour palettes are excellent and make him more visually appealing too compared to his old, bland ones. I'm still not sure why he can't throw that blasted hammer :P but his new grabbing moves are VERY nice to watch and his aerial strike is excellent. He's definitely viable in most situations and, even though I probably can't play him very well, he's strong enough to hold his own in the later stages. He's definitely faithful to the character and his dialogue sounds perfect for him too.

Vision - 6.5/10
Vision is a hard character to rate. I love the way he plays and his ability to 'teleport' around the stage (and control where he reappears) is excellent. Most of his moves look cool and are  fun to use. However, he seems to have one major flaw and I just can't figure it out. He gets 'timed out' in almost EVERY boss fight. I'm not sure if he just isn't dealing enough damage or if it's hard to hit most bosses with his moves, but somehow he gets timed out a LOT. I hope it's not just me that suffers this. I usually get timed out at least once per boss fight, and against Hammer it was probably twice. I really don't know why this happens, but my only guess is maybe his damage is too low to kill bosses within the allotted time? Otherwise, he's definitely worth a higher score, but he's just not fun to play in boss fights because it takes so long to kill them that it gets kinda boring to keep fighting them.

Also, I THINK some of his dialogue is the wrong way around. I think he says "decreasing density" when he uses his aerial slam, when it should be 'increasing' since he's becoming heavier, whereas he says "increasing density" when using his Avenger Power to become completely intangible, when he's actually DEcreasing his density. I might be wrong but it could be worth looking at :)

War Machine - 7.2/10
I liked War Machine in the first demo, and I like him even more in the second! He feels like a good, all-rounded character. His moves are visually appealing and you've done a great job of making him feel different than Iron Man. He feels like his own character. He works well in most stages. Occasionally it feels like his Avenger Power can miss a lot of enemies, but it doesn't happen too much. Overall, he just feels good. Not much else I can say!

Beast - 5.8/10
Beast is quite tricky to play but has a few moves that are fun to use (the Wild Slash for example). I like his new grapple moves (especially the handstand kick!) but, like Iron Man, he feels a little underwhelming at times. He isn't a character I would be able to play the entire demo with before getting a little bored. I wish I knew why :( I still don't use his Avenger Power much either but I understand it's purpose. I just prefer his regular specials, haha.

Quicksilver - 7.8/10
One of the best and most faithfully created characters in the game. Quicksilver's base movement speed is great and his running speed is perfect, fast enough to feel like you're the 'speed king', but not so fast that you can't see him, lol. Many of his attacks, whilst simple, are fun to use and all feel useful in various situations. A lot of his moves chain together well. He's a very tactical character, but not so tactical that it takes away the action. His Avenger Power is one of the best in the game as it covers the whole screen if used correctly. His rising attack is way better and far more useful than his old one. I know I'm not alone in saying his Sky Stage is nothing short of genius. The visual effects on his speed are very pleasing on the eye :) He might not be as 'flashy' as some of the other characters, but he's a lot of fun to play.

Emma Frost - 5/10
Try as I might, Emma still feels too hard to play and is one of those characters who you look at and think "why would I choose her over any of the others?" She has plenty of moves to choose from thanks to her two forms, but somehow she still feels too tricky to use efficiently and her psychic attacks are rather difficult to use. I DO like her increased range in psychic form though. I don't play her enough to really say much more :( I intend on forcing myself to do a full playthrough with her at some point to try and figure her out more.

Black Cat - 6.8/10
The first of the new characters! I was really looking forward to both her and Tigra and they did not disappoint. She's fun to play and her moves and specials are decent although I wish she had more aerial options (as a feline character). I like her Feline Somersault on the ground, but the aerial version feels pointless. I've never found a situation to use it over the regular one. I think it would be nice to see her use her rope in the air the way she could in First Alliance 2 to perform a swing kick. I love her rising attack a lot and it's definitely one of the best, like Quicksilver's, for mowing through a group of enemies. I also love her costumes a lot because they're all so different! Her Avenger Power is a little hard to connect with and use properly, and it seems like sometimes enemies ignore it, and sometimes they don't. I thought Hydra Golems were immune to it at first until one time it randomly worked on one, so I dunno :S I also love her voice because it stands out from the other characters and it's a pleasure to hear. "Girls just wanna have fun" never fails to make me smile a little.

Namor - 7.8/10
This guy surprised me. I had no idea who he was and so I didn't really care much about him, but when I saw his gameplay videos I thought 'he actually looks fun!' and I was right. He's very fun to play. His moves look great and are very satisfying to use. His dash attack and Mermanus Strike are great fun. Like Black Cat, I love the diversity in his costumes. Most of them look really cool. Overall he's a lot of fun. A really pleasant surprise.

Wolverine - 6.2/10
In the videos, I thought he looked kinda boring to play, but once I got my hands on him, he was actually pretty cool! His attacks are satisfying both visually and audibly and I like the unique grabs and combos he can do. He's not an amazing character but he's not bad either :) I like his dialogue too and it's nice to hear his signature "bub!" as always. One thing I do find a little... 'ugly' is his fall down animation and his sprite when he's on the ground looks like he got flattened by a steamroller or something :S It's probably just me but it stands out a little weirdly.

Red Hulk - 6/10
Like War Machine, Red Hulk is different enough from regular Hulk to be worth playing :) There are a couple of times where I notice he uses the same moves as Hulk but they make sense and it's not too bad. Again, I won't play him much because he's not my kind of character but he's well made nontheless :)

One thing I did spot is that for a couple of his moves it sounds like he uses regular Hulk's voice, which sounds weird because Red Hulk's lines are much deeper normally. One of them is an aerial attack I think. And I think his Special (which is the same as Hulk's) also uses regular Hulk's voice. I wasn't sure if it was intentional or an oversight.

Abigail Brand - 5.8/10
This one surprised me because I thought she would be much more fun and easier to play than she actually is. Her combos and grab moves look great, but she seems to get knocked down an awful lot and some of her moves leave her very vulnerable. The grab move where she flips over the enemy's head and unleashes fire on them should knock down surrounding enemy's too. The move looks like it has more range than it actually does. Almost every time I use that, I get hit and knocked down immediately afterwards by nearby enemies. Although it's tricky to master her spacing at first, Gun Mode is pretty good and I especially like the fact that the game remembers your chosen ammo at all times. I also like that she immediately switches to Hand-to-Hand Mode when she runs out of ammo, so she is not vulnerable. I think she will just take time to get the hang of but she's another of those characters where I'd rather play someone easier to use.

Tigra - 7.2/10
Tigra is a LOT of fun to play, as I hoped she would be. The sound effect for her regular claw attacks is SO satisfying on the ears and both of her specials are great fun to use. Her grabbing moves, especially her throws, look great and I love how acrobatic they are. Like Black Cat, I was hoping for more variety in aerial attacks (she's a cat after all) but overall the majority of her moves are just great. I love how good her Hellcat palettes look and the alternate special is decent. Her Avenger Power is very nice but a little tricky to line up sometimes and I keep getting the wrong enemy, especially in boss fights, lol.

By the way, her section on your website is incomplete. Her grab moves are not listed and neither is her alternate special in Hellcat form :)

One universal complaint I have for all characters are the 'hold attack for 3 seconds' moves. I NEVER use them. In Streets of Rage, for example, those moves were a LOT easier to pull off and 'charge up' during other moves, but in this, I feel like I hold the button for 4-5 seconds and STILL nothing happens. I know this isn't the case of course but I definitely think it could be reduced to 1 and a half or 2 seconds. In a game this fast-paced you don't have time to hold down a button for so long and it's not worth the trouble since the moves themselves aren't amazingly powerful or anything. It's much easier and quicker to use a regular move or special.

Overall, there is not a single straight up 'bad' character. All of them are good in their own way and definitely worth trying out. Even the characters I only scored 5, I will still play them occasionally and I'm sure for some people they have better potential :)

I guess I'll end on characters that would be nice to see in the next build, even though that's really far away :) Spiderwoman of course, since you said she was quite far into creation and she looked really nice in-game as an NPC. I imagine her to be like Tigra/Hellcat, with Jessica Carpenter's version as an alternate colour with different specials.
Also Black Widow is a must because she's the only main Avenger missing and she appears when the game is loading but she's not in the game, lol. In First Alliance 2 she was awful, almost as bad as Hawkeye, but if you can do to her what you did to Hawkeye in the new demo then that would be amazing. I believe in you! :D
Some more X-Men could be cool. Jean Grey and Cyclops perhaps, and Collosus could be the next 'slow powerhouse' character. I'd really love Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat too, since she does appear in the movies but everyone seems to ignore her. She's apparently playable in ZVitor's new game, but only for like one stage and she doesn't have many moves (kinda like a playable NPC) which was really disappointing. I imagine her to be like Vision in terms of moving around the stage by phasing.
It would be nice to see Scarlet Witch alongside her brother too, and since I saw her sprite on like page 1 of your original topic, I was curious about how she would play.

Anyway, I've taken up waaay too much time here XD lol. I hope this was somewhat useful though. I know it's important for developer's to get feedback so I like to be as thorough as I can.

Hope you're enjoying your break and that you have a great New Year :)

Congrats Illu! I haven't played yet but I'm excited by the comments which seem to come up to the expectations!

I'm glad to have contributed a little bit and I want to start the game tomorrow because maybe I'll be able to play with someone, which is more fun. ^^

Here's a playthrough of Boss Fight mode with Quicksilver guys:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96l6qX6opSw

He's such a fun ass character to use lol!!!  Thanks for the updates man!!

I will be short for this feedback.
I loved it for all the aspects, and also for some details like power charing automatically in training stage.
I generally prefer games with big sprites, but this project is really catchy and each character plays in a very custom way.
In 3 words : I LOVE IT!  :)

Happy New Year everyone :)
Thanks for all the support. Let me reply:

@dafamily thanks for the great videos :)

A great experience. Played it entirely, had a blast! I love how you used devil's crush song for the bosses.
I loved that game when I was a child :)

Captain America - 7.4/10
I don't think he's gotten worse, but I think the game's gotten better than him, if that makes sense.
Its exactly the case. I am not a fan of Captain America for the same reason I am not a fan of Superman - both are too "straight arrow" for me. I do prefer more chaotic characters, like Hulk.
So even he is on the game just because he needs to be there, I tried to balance him. He have some unique abilities, like the stamina recharge and the object grab. The only thing I've changed him was the shield slash, which is faster on the last release.

Iron Man - 6/10
Even though he probably has the same number of moves as the other characters, he feels like he has less. I also really like his alternate fire in the MK1 armor.
I have that feeling sometimes to. Maybe I will let him grab the enemies, since he was trained by Cap America. About the Armor, I have plans to add other effects for armors, like the Stealth Armor and HulkBuster.

Hawkeye - 7.4/10
Thanks. Hawkeye is someone I like, and I think his arrows could be even better (he has more than 100 type of arrows on the comics), but I saved some arrows ideas for another Bow based character.

Hulk - 7/10
Speaking of green...
I must confess, I do not play Hulk very often as I am not a fan of "slow powerhouse" characters in beat 'em ups,I do kinda wish he could do the famous 'loki throw' as a grab special though.
Its exactly my type of character, lol. And I am a big fan of Hulk. About the throw, I plan to hire a sprite editor on the future to make it.

I'm still not sure why he can't throw that blasted hammer
There were a bug in the first demo - Instead of raising his defense against all types of attacks, I ended LOWERING it. Noob mistake :)
About the hammer, its one of the most asked questions of the game - the second is WHERE IS SPIDERMAN...

Vision - 6.5/10
Vision is a hard character to rate.
Yeah, I agree with you. He could be better. Vision himself had changed a lot over the time in Comics (when the Avengers had encountered him first time, he were able to defeat ALL the Avengers TOGETHER), even in the Movies he is not that good. I got the time over too. Maybe I need to redo this character.

War Machine - 7.2/10
I liked War Machine in the first demo, and I like him even more in the second! He feels like a good, all-rounded character. His moves are visually appealing and you've done a great job of making him feel different than Iron Man.
That was my main goal - to make him look different from just a black colored armor. Btw, I spent years trying to figure out what the hell he screams on his hypermove in MVC - GERONIMO and HERE IS MY SUNDAY'S BEST,  lol

Beast is a tactical character. You need to learn to abuse of his Avenger Power. On a 2 player game, if you choose Beast + Brand (Beast calls the robot and Brand enter in weapon mode) you will go through the entire game without any effort :)
When I play with him, The first thing I do is to call the robot helper. Then I just use normal attacks until my power bar is full again - just to wait the robot death, to call him again. On  2 player game, if you have an NPC like Antman on the screen, you will have 4 characters fighting the enemies :)

Quicksilver - 7.8/10
One of the best and most faithfully created characters in the game.  I know I'm not alone in saying his Sky Stage is nothing short of genius. The visual effects on his speed are very pleasing on the eye
Quicksilver is one of the characters I was expecting people hate - but in fact is the opposite. He was pretty hard to do: Doom made almost all of this sprites, mixing many enemies from the game; Balancing him were a nightmare. The speed effects were made by yours truly. Oh and I LOVED to make him running on the water :)

Emma Frost - 5/10
Try as I might, Emma still feels too hard to play and is one of those characters who you look at and think "why would I choose her over any of the others?"
You are not the only one, saddly. Even she having the best running attack from the game. And since there is a bug in her mind control, her potential is reduced a lot.
I am not a big fan of the original character, if I can be honest.

Black Cat - 6.8/10
I like her, because she is not a simple character - you have to master her abilities. For example, stay close to any enemy - she will be invincible if you don't move or attack, thanks to her probability field manipulation. Her voice is amazing, it was done by a great VA and she got the right spirit of the character.

Namor - 7.8/10
This guy surprised me. I had no idea who he was and so I didn't really care much about him. I love the diversity in his costumes.
Namor is such underrated character. It was the first Marvel super hero...and now he is dead, officially :(

About his costumes, that was a crazy work of Jhfer. Just look how his sprites look:
O8SOAuc.gif

I would never done such thing, but Jhfer is crazy :)

Wolverine - 6.2/10
In the videos, I thought he looked kinda boring to play, but once I got my hands on him, he was actually pretty cool!
Logan is one of my favorite super hero :) This is why he has some extra attacks, like beating fallen enemies.
About the fall animation, its like that on the original game too. I agree its not too good.

Red Hulk - 6/10
Like War Machine, Red Hulk is different enough from regular Hulk to be worth playing
Glad to know that :) Maybe I will change his voices on the future.

Abigail Brand - 5.8/10
She is another tactical character and takes times to master. She was the hardest character to code, because I wanted to not break the game with her gun mode (since she can hit everyone from far away).
Some of those "holes" are intentional, but I will take a look on her.

Tigra - 7.2/10
Tigra is a LOT of fun to play, as I hoped she would be. Her Avenger Power is very nice but a little tricky to line up sometimes and I keep getting the wrong enemy, especially in boss fights, lol.
By the way, her section on your website is incomplete. Her grab moves are not listed and neither is her alternate special in Hellcat form :)
Its one of the characters which had surprised me - I thought people won't care too much about her (because she is not "mainstream"), but its one of the most loved character. I will fix those info.

One universal complaint I have for all characters are the 'hold attack for 3 seconds' moves. I NEVER use them.
You are not alone. I really don't like how chargeattack works in OpenBOR. The detection seams to not work everytime. The easiest way to do it is to hold the attack button while you do a jumpattack, then release once you touch the ground. This is something I will report to the DEVs when I have time.

THANKS FOR YOUR IN-DEPTH REVIEW :)

I'm glad to have contributed a little bit and I want to start the game tomorrow because maybe I'll be able to play with someone, which is more fun. ^^
For sure! You made a great work in Dr. Strange and the spiked wall.

I generally prefer games with big sprites, but this project is really catchy and each character plays in a very custom way.
Yeah me too, so I tried to make the game as fun as I could.

THANKS EVERYONE.

I remember you saying that War Machine's ability to grab enemies was one of the main ways you were making him different from Iron Man. It would be bad to make War Machine less unique by giving Iron Man the same :) The only thing I can suggest is maybe to watch some of the Iron Man and Avengers movies and look for things he can do in those that aren't already in the game? In the Avengers Alliance game, he could create a deflector bubble barrier around himself. Perhaps his block move could do that so he can protect himself from behind as well? It would give him a little bit of a cool difference between him and War Machine. It could function the same as his current block, where he can keep it up but it drains power.

It'd be interesting to see what specials the Stealth Armor would get. I guess some kind of temporary invisibility/invulnerability like Visions' Avenger Power?

How would the Hulkbuster Armor work, since it couldn't just be a recolour? Would it be a separate character of some sort? Maybe one you toggle between on Iron Man similar to switching between versions of characters in Streets of Rage Remake, or would it be like First Alliance 2 where you pick up an item to get it?

Thanks. Hawkeye is someone I like, and I think his arrows could be even better (he has more than 100 type of arrows on the comics), but I saved some arrows ideas for another Bow based character.
Wow, I can't even imagine what 100 arrows could do, haha.
I played my first full playthrough with him the other day and he just feels so smooth to play now :)

Its exactly my type of character, lol. And I am a big fan of Hulk. About the throw, I plan to hire a sprite editor on the future to make it.
I like the Hulk :) I've just always been better suited to fast and acrobatic characters. Whenever I tried to play Max in Streets of Rage, I played so poorly, but my best friend destroyed with him, so we were perfect allies in that sense. He always played the big beefy characters and I always played the fast technical ones. Glad that throw will make it eventually :) It's so iconic, lol.

About the hammer, its one of the most asked questions of the game - the second is WHERE IS SPIDERMAN...
Ha, I guess Spiderman's really popular :) I like him and I assumed he would be in the game eventually so I suppose I never really wondered why he wasn't yet. I didn't see him as a character who would be in the first couple of demos. I wondered more about Black Widow since she's one of the characters shown when the game's loading.

I've only seen him in the movies and I had no idea he used to be Jarvis until I saw those, lol. Like I said, he's tricky because I like his play style a lot. He's well-made, but somehow doesn't seem effective. I don't know enough about him to really make any suggestions though :/

He definitely feels balanced :) I think a lot of people like him because he's got a unique playstyle which is both fun and fairly easy to learn, and a lot of his 'gimmicks' (like running on water) are really well done :) It seems like a lot of effort went into making him feel authentic and people appreciate that.

You are not the only one, saddly. Even she having the best running attack from the game. And since there is a bug in her mind control, her potential is reduced a lot.
I am not a big fan of the original character, if I can be honest.
I don't know anything about the original character really but she seems kinda boring. Her powers are interesting and unique though, the way she switches between her two forms and I can't imagine there being another character like her in the game, so she does have a place. Her running attack is pretty good (and the laugh she does when she uses it always makes me laugh too for some reason, lol). I'm not sure if I've encountered that bug because I don't use her mind control much. Again I have no idea what to suggest for her :S

I like her, because she is not a simple character - you have to master her abilities. For example, stay close to any enemy - she will be invincible if you don't move or attack, thanks to her probability field manipulation. Her voice is amazing, it was done by a great VA and she got the right spirit of the character.
Ahh I wondered how to use her probability field. There's no clear indication in-game when she uses it so I never even noticed it was there, lol. So if I stand unmoving in front of an enemy, like a Flamethrower, there's a chance the flames will go straight through her? Is it like a percentage chance?
Yeah the voice and accent are just perfect. Makes me wish I'd done a better job too, lol.

She is another tactical character and takes times to master. She was the hardest character to code, because I wanted to not break the game with her gun mode (since she can hit everyone from far away).
Some of those "holes" are intentional, but I will take a look on her.
Gun Mode definitely works well :) It probably works better with 2 players since the melee character can take the heat off Abigail while she shoots. I find playing her solo it's quite difficult to find a safe spot to shoot enemies without another player distracting them.

Its one of the characters which had surprised me - I thought people won't care too much about her (because she is not "mainstream"), but its one of the most loved character. I will fix those info.
I think that's why people DO like her, because she's not mainstream. It's great having all the well-known heroes, but it's also really nice to have some unique and more obscure ones too (which is why I request weird characters like the Runaways, lol. I was so happy when ZVitor revealed he's putting one of them in his game) :) I don't know a thing about Tigra's story (other than her in-game bio) but it didn't matter because she was just a lot of fun to play, which makes her more memorable. It also took me a while to realize that her blue and yellow costume is her 'The Cat' costume, not a Hellcat one. Did Hellcat style herself off of Tigra's old 'Cat' costume, or did Tigra style that costume on Hellcat's? I need to read the comics, lol.

I thought of reviewing the enemies but so many of them make me rage I figured it would be a bad idea to go ranting about them XD I do want to ask if anyone has any strategy with the Snifferbots though :S It's hard to find moves that actually hit them when they're so low on the ground. Also the Hydra Bots, especially the part in Militant's stage where you have 4 of them and you just get frozen over and over :S It can be very hard with some characters and I haven't found a way to avoid it yet.

I'm going to try to start recording playthroughs soon too :) Might do one later today.
