MadGearI don't like you made it too easy buddy
Unfortunately, I don't know how to make the game more difficult without it being cheap. The only thing I can think of is giving the player less credits.
MadGear sorry buddy spelling mistake on my part i didnt mean i dont like you made it too easy i ment i dont think you made it too easy hahaha my bad. Its still a good challenge for people who have never played it before and it is nice and balanced now to be more fun.

Ah, alrighty then ;D

I was just browsing through my files of this mod and I suddenly came across the 'Character Select' screen from the v.1 version of the game. That image is 10 years old now. So I made a comparison image where you see how the 'Character Select' screen has evolved throughout the years.

With the 2009 version, I didn't even bother to remove the title screen behind the character portraits and the artstyles of the 'Toads and Dragons don't match at all :P

The 2019 version is much better, if I say so myself. I've spend a good amount of time working on just that image ;)

Thats awesome buddy just from that image alone you can see how much effort you put into the game :D

Davpreec Thanks for the compliment about the 'Character Select' screen ;D

Also, yeah, I've seen that the game can be challenging. I recently saw a new YouTube video of someone playing the game. He got halfway through the game. He went 'Game Over' during the fight with Big Blag. Unfortunately, I have no idea what he's saying during the video. I believe his language is Chinese. I might be wrong though.

@MadGear,

Happy to friend. Got any other projects you're working on?

DC
I was, actually. I was working on a stand-alone Fighting Force sequel called 'Mace's Deadly Case'. It was a single player experience much like the 2nd Fighting Force game. I decided early on that I would not name the mod 'Fighting Force' because of the single player experience. You would play as Mace (one of the female characters from the original game).

Unfortunately, 10 years of development on BDD: The Revenge took a bit of a toll on me and I just felt exhausted while developing the new mod. I made the mistake of starting development way too soon after finishing BDD: The Revenge. Progress became very slow and it didn't help that I had to edit the character of Mace myself. That was back in 2017. Four years later, and I still can not bring myself to continue development. But I haven't deleted the mod either because I might just return to it sometime in the future.

the game has a very badly calibrated level of difficulty. certain points are impossible to finish without losing at least 1 life. There are no energy recovery items. Not to mention that the two characters of double dragon are practically useless.

Hi. First of all: Thanks for having tried the game.
Second: Maybe I can help with these certain points that you're talking about. Which certain points are you referring to? If you are talking about the vehicle stages: They can have some cheap deaths because you don't know what's coming. It was like this in the original Battletoads game as well. I just tried to replicate that style of difficulty. But, unlike that game, I offer the player the ability to practice the vehicle stages in the 'Bonus Mode' section of the game. And, if all else fails, the player also has the choice to skip the vehicle stages during 'Story Mode'.

The reason there are no recovery items is because I wanted this game to have more of a Double Dragon style. The original BDD game was more a Battletoads game than a Double Dragon game. So, with this one, I tried to do the opposite. Pretty much all official Double Dragon games have no recovery items.

The Double Dragon characters being useless is subjective. They just have a different playstyle compared to the 'Toads. Some people prefer the playstyle of the Dragons while others prefer the playstyle of the 'Toads. Pick whatever playstyle suits you most.

I'm sorry if I come across as grumpy. I'm not. It's your opinion. If you don't like the game, that's fine. Nothing wrong with that ;)
